I mean, it's not an IRL meme. You can't pair a 1950 video with modern day songs. This entry is not about the dance itself, it's about the editing. This can't happen IRL.

The title, origin, and way it was written were misleading.
The title should be something other than just "The Charleston Dance."
The origin should refer to the video starring Al Minns & Leon James, and try to find the account of the first person who uploaded the video, and the date it was uploaded.
I see that yours has done well since 2007. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP6KGpOVvBk&feature=related
As a participant in the meme, do you know more about how it started?
Actually I am not a participant to the meme. The "jumpstyler" YouTube account is not mine. It's just has the same name as the name I chose for this site. So the name is just coincidental. No idea how the derivatives have started, but I think that the first one was the "around the world" version. The original video (the old video footage) is posted on the entry.
+1 Deadpool.
