Actually, to correct you, some memes are tropes but not all of them are. The TV Tropes KYM article has a list of memes in that site that are confirmed on ours.

Memes aren't defined by which sites they appears on. If that were true, every GET thread on 4chan would be a meme.

No, they are defined by how people interpret them originally before they became memes, how they spread from person to person virally, how they deviate from their original purposes along the way, and how they are interpreted anew after all these changes.

Going back to what you said though, if a meme began on TV Tropes and spread to other sites becoming askew to the idea of what it first was meant for in a massive scale, then that is something this site would document with TV Tropes as the point of origin.

To put it simple, it wouldn't be a meme because it was solely on TV Tropes. It would be a meme because it evolved on TV Tropes and spread on to different sites.

Also tropes are a fairly interesting concept since they tend to change over time.
