Medieval Parodies?

Granted, the act of parody has been around since before Medieval times, but when did these medieval-styled Internet Meme parodies come about?

I’ve seen them for most memes. Anyone know where the images used in these originated from? When did they first start getting used for memetic purposes, by who, and where?

This will always be my favourite meme, hands down. It’s hilarious and I don’t know why.
