Anyone love this little complex gem?

I love it, I do not love trying to play it. I want to, but I simply don't have the patience. Even with the so called noob packs, I just get super bored before any of the Fun happens, so I must suffice with stories of other people's experiences.

Interesting fact: One of my "will never actually do" projects involves making a trailer for a fake Dwarf Fortress 3D using a game engine like Neverwinter Nights 2's.
