This sub-meme of “Bitches Don’t Know” was born in 2008, when a couple of kids who seemed to be trying desperately to be cool had their picture taken in a sandbox. The picture found its way onto many sites and forums, including /b/ and digg, where it received over 2000 diggs. Many people viewing the picture mistook the small plastic trowel the large kid is holding for a shovel, leading to the meme’s name: “Bitches don’t know about my popsicle”. Everything about this photo, from the poses of the two kids, to the looks on their faces, to the old school Nintendo shirt the large kid is wearing adds to the hilarity of this meme.
