Jeni Nugraha is an Indonesian working as a kerupuk fryer. He gained popularity on TikTok and other platforms for cosplaying while he worked and filming himself playing various characters requested by his fans and followers. Kerupuk are a famous kind of starchy, crunchy Indonesian cracker that is prepared by deep frying, which is the process Nugraha films himself doing.

History

On July 28th, 2022, Nugraha uploaded his first video on TikTok under his handle @_gemini115.^[1] In the video, he delivered his kerupuk to the warung (Indonesian mini store) that would sell it. This first video only received 12,000 views in two years (shown below).

Before he started doing cosplay, Nugraha typically uploaded videos of himself frying the kerupuk in a large vat with oil. For example, on October 25th, 2022, he uploaded a video of his kerupuk cooking that received more than 4.8 million views and 99,000 likes in one year (shown below, left).^[2] On October 28th, 2022, Nugraha uploaded his most popular TikTok video at that time which showed him frying kerupuk while dance music played, receiving more than 10.2 million views and 394,000 likes in one year (shown below, right).^[3]

On December 18th, 2022, Nugraha uploaded the first video of himself low budget cosplaying as Wire Sableng, an infamous fictional character from an Indonesian novel and movie franchise.^[4] The video did not gain much attention and only received 38,000 views in one year (shown below, left). On January 24th, 2023, he uploaded a video of himself wearing feminine Muslim clothes, including a veil, while working.^[5] The video received more than 9.6 million views and 143,000 likes in one year (shown below, right).

Online Presence

After his video wearing feminine Muslim clothes gained popularity, Nugraha continued to film himself wearing unexpected clothes and doing cosplays requested by his followers. For example, on January 17th, 2024, Nugraha^[6] accepted @anauhibbunafsi's request to wear an Indonesian high school girl's uniform at work. The video received more than 8.3 million views and 304,000 likes in two months (shown below, left). On January 20th, 2024, Nugraha^[7] accepted @oscargimang1945's request by cosplaying as Ultraman while frying. The video received more than 8.3 million views and 659,000 likes in two months (shown below, right).

On January 26th, 2024, Nugraha^[8] accepted @apa.kek131's request and cosplayed as a satpam (security officer). The video received more than 2.3 million views and 99,000 likes in two months (shown below, left). On February 1st, 2024, Nugraha^[9] accepted @mochimaru2811's request by cosplaying as a Playerunknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) character. The video received more than 19.2 million views and 969,000 likes in one month (shown below, right).
