Thousands of music videos are uploaded every day on the internet, from amateurs to professional-level homemade masterpieces.

"Sou Foda" ("I Rock" / "I'm the bomb", even if such expression in Portuguese is offensive) is one of those masterpieces. This video was posted in 2010, featuring a Brazilian teenage boy dancing and singing to a song with self-claiming lyrics. His posse is called "Os Avassaladores" (something like "The Overpowering").

The song is a Brazilian Funk – based on the Miami Bass genre, and not the likes of James Brown, Parliament or Funkadelic – and its lyrics are about how awesome the singer is, and how he's better in bed than any man could ever be.

Reaching The Mainstream
Despite spouting some catchy rhymes, the lame singing style, the wonky chroma key, the dance and pretty much everything else together with the fact that a 10 – 15 year boy claims that he is a sex god along with the singer's expressions, everything makes the lol-factor only rise.

A bit of search on YouTube reveals that the song "Sou Foda" has been around for a year or more, but it only reached the Brazilian masses after this video was posted:

After being re-posted and forwared on the most famous Brazilian blogs and overall Brazilian blogsphere, Sou Foda became a catchphrase among many.

Remixes
The cheesy singing and drum loop can be easily remixed with many different song styles, like Justin Bieber, Rihanna and even Coldplay. And the increasing number of remixes are there to prove it.

In 2011, the humour blog NãoSalvo posted a "Seal of Quality", used when one of the remixes – or anything related to the theme – is compared to the proclaimed 'awesomeness' of the 'hero':

Interviews

In February 2011, Vitinho 'Sou Foda' (as he's now known) was interviewed by the blog Anões em Chamas, which was the first interview and real-life contact internet had with him.
He answered questions about his group, music and if he, really, was 'Foda':

In April 2011, 'Sou Foda' went on a 'Day of Prince' (a parody to common television shows which features 'Day of Princess', where any girl/woman can be chosen and go through hair styling, spas, shopping and some 'celebrity-like' events).
The event was organized and managed by Sai do Sofá website.
