Similar to FAIL, this catchphrase lets people know they might be able to improve the manner in which they are doing something.

The first known instance of a “You’re Doing it Wrong” image macro to appear on the web was the above image, created by Sebastien Grillmaier in 2004. Although a link to the original thread has not been found, Grillmaier sent us a link to another post he made only days later using the same image on the Tribalwar.com forums under the name “Lone Gunman”
