Jokes aside, Dewey finds Pearl attractive, so it wouldn't be entirely groundless. But I don't think anyone actually takes it seriously anyway, it's more like something people would occasionally draw for a laugh (e.g. like that comic I posted yesterday).

The real mystery here is why so many people ship Lapidot. It makes no sense! Granted, shipping is not about “why”, it’s about “why not”, but the two characters have had almost zero interaction, and are more likely to despise each other if they meet again than anything, at least initially. Or even worse, Jaspis. It’s a literal fucking abusive relationship, and people make “cute” art of it :/

The only people who take Pewey seriously are the anti-shippers who insist that those who ship it are "lesbophobic."

Because God forbid the possibility that you like more than one gender at a time.
