10 Nostalgic Images Showing What Gen X Had To Go Through
Generation Z might dominate culture right now, no cap ngl on god fr fr, and the Boomers may still hold the levers of power and steer the ship of state. But between the time that today's grandparents piled in the station wagon for Woodstock and the Zoomers swept onto the scene in a cloud of vape smoke and irony, culture flourished. We have Gen X to thank for that.
It was a different life, a life of responsibility and resilience. The Karen Generation couldn't look things up when they were curious, instead they relied on the faulty information and casual prejudice of family members who had a hunch. When they made plans to meet up with a friend, they had to specify an exact location and time and then stick to it because they couldn't just text as the situation evolved. They generally believed what the TV said to them. Weird candies and toys were sold in stores as brands experimented with what they thought consumers might like. Nobody understood where their world, menaced still by the long shadow of the Cold War, would turn next. It turned into now. Take a moment to understand how we got to wherever we are now.
