Johnnie Walker in the War Room With Tristan Tate refers to a viral video of grindset influencer Luke Belmar talking about buying Tristan Tate his favorite whiskey Johnnie Walker (often misspelled as "Johnny Walker") for him at an airport duty-free to impress Tate and sip it in the "war room" with him during his trip to Romania. Belmar says verbatim, "Tristan Tate, pulled up a video, his favorite whiskey, Johnnie Walker. What do I do at duty-free? Fucking Johnnie Walker. That night, sipping the fucking Johnnie Walker in the war room by myself with him chilling. Why? I studied, bro." The clip was used to mock Belmar for glazing Tristan Tate. It was used, in general, to mock sigma male influencers and editors, portraying them as idiotic. The Johnnie Walker clip amassed memes on TikTok and Instagram in late 2024 and early 2025. Many of the memes additionally included I Bought a Property in Egypt, Chopped Chin and Eye of Rah to form brainrot, sludge content videos popularized in January 2025.

Origin

On September 3rd, 2023, YouTuber^[1] @thismentality posted a clip of Luke Belmar talking about visiting Tristan and Andrew Tate to a group of men on the street. The clip centers on Belmar saying that he purchased Johnnie Walker for Tristan Tate because he saw a video in which Tate said it was his favorite whiskey. He used the anecdote to teach a lesson on networking, saying, "I studied, bro." The video received over 28,300 views in two years (shown below).

Currently, the earliest discovered memetic use of the clip is a video shared by TikToker^[3] @swagmuffs on March 29th, 2024, in which he reenacted Luke Belmar to mock him, receiving over 14,400 plays and 550 likes in 10 months (shown below).

In late 2024, the Johnnie Walker meme gained notable popularity due in large part to TikToker @miamicookie, known for starting the Bad Walking Dead Edits that use ridiculous CapCut filters and effects. The TikToker began sharing similar videos with Luke Belmar's Johnnie Walker clip, like one TikTok^[4] shared on December 28th, which received over 505,800 plays and 57,100 likes in 10 days (shown below).
