We want to believe the things we say will hold up over time, but ultimately that's not true. Just take the past two years, for example. We're all still waiting for that two-week lockdown to end. But other things we think or say in day-to-day life can turn sour within a short amount of time. It doesn't always take years for something to age miserably and turn into a whole new meaning. Usually, that meaning is something pretty awkward, and we can't help but cringe a little looking back on what we thought the future would be. Things never turn out the way we'd hoped, and I guess that's (ironically) to be expected.

Whether you "tweeted" something a few hours ago that managed to predict the loss of your job or you stumbled across a cringeworthy bit of dialogue from an old movie, there are some things that aged like spoiled milk rather than a fine wine. Here are some of the funniest examples.
