15 DIY Projects That Have Gone Too Far
Life hacks are a form of new age clickbait, in that the GIFs, videos and images "attempt" to improve the lives of those watching, usually through eye-catching thumbnails, outlandish claims or just plain bizarre concepts. Many of these appear on Facebook or Instagram and are virally spread from sheer questioning bewilderment as to why anyone would even attempt what they just did.
The hub for such images is that of /r/DiWHY on Reddit, which collects images, GIFs and videos of these strange do-it-yourself projects. There's really no reason any of these things should exist, as you're about to see. DIYing is a skill many of us have learned, simply because we're bored or cheap, but just because you can DIY something doesn't mean you should. If you ever find yourself making something like this, please stop and reevaluate what you're doing, then go to the store and just buy the product instead, or hire an electrician. Here are some truly terrible DIY fails that were better left up to the experts.
