Being born in the past would probably not have been very fun, but the history memes about it might be. Had you been born nearly anywhere in the world in the year 1100, you would likely have gotten unalived by some early childhood illness. If you happened to survive that, you most likely would have been a peasant and then when the Lord came galloping in asking for recruits for the latest Crusade or campaign against a neighbor, you and your seventeen brothers would likely be forced to sign up.

Becoming a knight would have been a good break from the peasant grind working in the manor's wheat fields for six days a week and going to church on the seventh. Galloping on a white stallion, hoisting the banner of your kingdom, you'd be the most gallant chevalier around until… what, hark!? Can it be? An Arrow In The Knee. Alas!
