Snoop Dogg And 50 Cent Join Forces To Call Out Gayle King
Public admiration and love for Kobe Bryant have skyrocketed since his tragic death on January 26th, with many sharing tributes and stories of his contribution to the world, both on and off the basketball court. While references to his 2003 sexual assault case have mostly been muted by the media, a clip of Gayle King interview with WNBA star Lisa Leslie has caused quite a lot of anger from Kobe Bryant fans.
In the clip, King references the assault charge and asks Leslie if she thinks it may tarnish the late basketball player's legacy. After the clip was shared on Twitter, Snoop Dogg took to his Instagram account to call out Gayle King for choosing to bring up something in Kobe Bryant's past, when his family is still mourning the loss of him and his daughter Gianna. However, it was Snoop using explicit language to describe Gayle King and her relationship with Oprah that caused his video to go viral. In addition, Snoop then posted several more photos on his account of Oprah and Gayle with Harvey Weinstein and even went so far as calling out Oprah for ruining Michael Jackson's reputation and demanding that Bill Cosby be freed.

Below is Snoop Dogg's initial response to seeing a preview of the episode that has yet to air.
50 Cent, who recently criticized Oprah for initially investing in a documentary on Russell Simmons immediately defended Snoop and apologized for his language.
i apologize for his language in advance, to people who get distracted by words and miss the point.

In their wildest dreams would they ever think that Snoop Dogg wanted to fight Gayle King.
Never in my days did I think Snoop Dogg would be threatening to beat up Gayle King. 2020 is a hell of a year and we’re only 37 days in. 😭😭😭 https://t.co/UhWBXH9el5

Many were happy to celebrate his video with GIFs of their own.

One user was happy to point out how Lisa Leslie did an amazing job in defeding Bryant.
Lisa Leslie hit it right on the head during that interview with Gayle King about Kobe. “You’ve had many years while he was alive to ask these questions”It’s so tasteless to wait until someone’s death to bring up accusations to tarnish their image. Gayle is disgusting.

Some were happy to throw out their TV's after they saw the clip.

Oprah, who happens to be Gayle King's best friend was also called out for her affiliation with Harvey Weinstein
Will Gayle King interview the 2 of them about allegations? #gayleking pic.twitter.com/mDrzVr9yaF

Some users were happy to call Snoop Dogg a hero, even after he mentioned Bill Cosby's case.
Snoop is my fucking hero 😭🥰 #OprahWinfrey #GayleKing pic.twitter.com/p9hna4KVBU

However, some users were not amused nor proud of the language and vitriol used by Snoop Dogg.
Whoa. This really hit a lot nerves, as it did mine too. However, the language, publicly referring to a woman on such a huge platform that snoop has was kinda rough to listen too. DAMN Snoop. I agree with you but the delivery not at all! Sheesh. https://t.co/em6qKbJD1e

One argued that she was just doing her job as a journalist.
Defending Snoop Dogg and other men engaging in misogynoir against Gayle King for being a journalist who discussed rape in an interview further proves the point that we live in a culture where Black women aren't allowed to have a voice or an opinion about anything.
— Ernest Owens (@MrErnestOwens) February 6, 2020
Several preferred that Snoop Dogg stop referring to women as "bitches' all together.

stop calling Black women bitches! What if someone called your daughter or wife one! Grow the --- up. pic.twitter.com/7EnHgD9afC
Especially after he called her a dog.
This aint it Uncle

Love you to death and I respect your position in criticizing her, but to call her out her name and try to relegate her to a dog is something else. Black women should be able to have the space to discuss how they feel about a mistake a man made. https://t.co/VOwvxV7GZH
Many were very taken aback by Snoop's support of Bill Cosby.
Snoop I was with you until the “Free Bill Cosby” pic.twitter.com/zpfrRsO0Ag

Mostly because it kind of came out of nowhere.

And left many with a bad taste in their mouth.
Snoop really almost had me fully on board, then he just had to go and say “Fre Bill Cosby” at the end. pic.twitter.com/DXzYkMXVhL

Following this story's explosion all over the internet, Bill Cosby, who is currently in prison, sent out an official Instagram post thanking Snoop for his words.
In addition, Gayle King offered up an apology today, claiming that the editors of the clip made the interview appear way worse than it actually was.
