In early March 2025, a rumor claiming that 26-year-old Luigi Mangione made "at least 20 videos" of himself having sex went viral online.
The rumor, started by a gossip website, described Luigi Mangione as a "hot-blooded sex fiend" who made high-quality recordings of himself having sex, and who sent unsolicited nudes to women.
According to the supposed source, the videos that Mangione supposedly made were of high quality and "had perfect lighting."

The rumor first appeared on the American gossip website Radar Online, where on February 28th an "exclusive" titled "'Stud' CEO Assassin Suspect Luigi Mangione 'Kept Stash of Home Movie Sex Tapes'" was published.
The article quoted an anonymous insider, supposedly an acquaintance of Mangione, who said that they saw one of the videos. "He wanted to be watched. He got off on it," Radio Online's source said.
However, the rumor did not truly go viral until March 3rd when the British tabloid Daily Mail reported on it. On that day, Daily Mail's social media posted links to the article. The one posted to X garnered over 27.1 million views and 7,700 reposts in one day.
Following the post, several other news accounts on X wrote about the rumor, spreading it further.
How Did People React To The Rumor?
Not unexpectedly, in the absence of the actual videos, the rumor was followed by some users on social media sharing photoshopped images of Mangione and mispresenting unrelated sex videos as those made by him.
Others posted memes illustrating their desperate search for the coveted leak, which has expectedly not surfaced.

Why Is The Luigi Mangione Sex Tapes Rumor Likely Not True?
While some people very much wish that the tapes were real, they are more likely not.
Firstly, past reports mentioned that Mangione suffered from a chronic back condition that affected his ability to have intimacy, which was even cited as one of his possible motives.
Was he filming sex tapes through severe pain? This doesn't quite add up.
Secondly, the original article that introduced the rumor reads like it wants to paint Mangione as a sex-crazed maniac in the most scandalous way. Radar Online also doesn't have a stellar reputation as a trustworthy source.
