While there has been no confirmation that a third game is even planned for development, Hollow Knight fans are busy imagining what the game might look like, with some claiming that it will star a funny little bug with a hammer named Pablo.
But who even is Pablo and does he exist in the Hollow Knight universe? Here's what you need to know.
Who Is 'Pablo' From 'Hollow Knight?'
In the Hollow Knight series of games, most of the characters are bugs, including the protagonists. Hollow Knight stars a small character known as The Knight, while Silksong stars a taller character named Hornet.
Like these characters, Pablo is a bug drawn with a football shaped head, stocky stature and a green cloak, brandishing a hammer as a weapon.
However, Pablo is not an official Hollow Knight character. He is a fan-made character by X / Twitter user and artist RealDazzen, created as a comedic, possible protagonist for an imagined third game in the Hollow Knight series.
The artist posted a drawing of Pablo next to the other protagonists on September 4th, 2025, gaining over 100,000 likes and inspiring memes over the following days.
How Is 'Pablo' Used In Memes?
Since making his big X / Twitter debut, Pablo has become a popular meme and fan art subject in the Hollow Knight community.
Fans of the games seem to like Pablo's vibes, resulting in a lot more content featuring the little green guy. This includes drawings of Pablo in other artists' styles, mockups of cover art for the imagined game "Hollow Knight: Pablo" and more.
Some of these posts are very convincing, matching the style of official Hollow Knight art in what seems to be an effort to gaslight people into believing that Pablo is a real character.
Maybe Team Cherry will take notes and put Pablo in the third Hollow Knight game … assuming a third game ever happens.
