What Is 'Erosion Bird' Or 'Opium Bird' And Why Are People Talking About It Being A 'Meme From 2027'? TikTok's Newest Cryptid Explained
If you haven't been on TikTok in a while, you might have missed the newest Bigfoot style creature to get viral on the platform. Similar to the recently viral Yeti clip that's been going around, this new Cryptid is winter themed, and is called the Erosion Bird. If you have no clue what any of this means, it'll be clear as a mountain sky momentarily.
What Is The 'Erosion Bird'?
Put simply, the Erosion Bird is a series of images and short looping videos that are supposed to depict a previously unseen series of large bird-like creatures that reside on top of mountains. Sounding more like an SCP than a silly TikTok trend, these AI Generated birds quickly took the platform by snowstorm after they were officially unveiled on September 12th, 2023.

Why Create Them?
When it comes to TikTok, Weirdcore and other highly niche types of content have been steadily gaining popularity, and these Erosion Birds have a lot going for them, like previously viral Cryptid Siren Head. The goal of creating and posting them, and all the following videos, is just to show the power of AI art while adding a little bit of personal weirdness to the overall vibe of TikTok, which creator @Drevfx successfully did.

How Do You Meme Erosion Birds?
The most common examples of memes featuring the Erosion Birds is to change up the caption to depict them as not scary but rather as a plug, making the entire genre a series of "My plug weird but he chill" memes.
