What Is The 'Fourth Hole'? The Confusing Slang Term Explained
Seth Macfarlane's Family Guy TV series spawned numerous memes that have been continuously reposted on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter (X). The series is also known for inventing some absurd sayings and slang, like Glenn Quagmire's "Giggity" catchphrase and, more recently the fourth hole slang.
The fourth hole slang emerged in the wake of discussions about a confusing September 2023 X post made by user @t_sadiity (shown below) in which they talked about "cheating on a girl that does all 4 holes."
Here is the meaning and how to use the "Fourth Hole" slang.
Where Does The 'Fourth Hole' Slang Comes From?
"Fourth hole" was first mentioned in season five episode 18 of Family Guy, in which Glenn Quagmire claims he discovered "women have a fourth hole." A clip of the episode was uploaded on YouTube by user CaolánMcGurn on January 12th, 2009, which amassed over 105,000 views and 781 likes in 14 years.
How 'Fourth Hole' Is Being Used As A Meme On Social Media?
After the X post made by user @t_sadiity went viral, various internet users questioned the meaning of "all four holes," with X user @graveyardpussy_ saying, "What u mean 4 sister," on September 19th, 2023, and gathering 139,000 likes in two days (seen below, top). X user @MargBarAmerica quoted the original post on September 20th saying, "women be sounding too?" and gathered over 9,000 likes in a day (seen below, bottom).
Paintings and drawings were also used in ironic memes to represent what the "fourth hole" might be, like X user @kerionmywayward's post on September 20th (shown below, left), which shows a hole in a tree paired with the caption "The fourth hole." The post amassed roughly 4,100 likes and 220 retweets in a week. On the same day, X user @helaensa posted a painting by Caravaggio titled "The Incredulity of Saint Thomas" to represent a "fourth hole." The tweet received more than 180 likes and 32 retweets in a week.
