Reels and TikTok are being taken over by a series of lewd Adventure Time memes about Jake the Dog.

The memes have Jake the Dog "Jakeing it" to anything and everything in what's becoming one of the most prevalent bait-and-switch formats of the moment.

What Is The 'Jaking It' Meme?

The earliest known example of the "Jaking it" meme was posted to Instagram Reels by user nogginboppers. The meme begins with a clip of Jake the Dog passing gas, followed by an abrupt transition to a photoshopped image of the character sleeping in bed. The photoshop depicts Jake with what appears to be a visible erection under the blanket.

The image is set to a crude AI of Jake's voice that repeatedly says, "Oh yeah I'm Jaking it," while rapid slapping noises play. Nogginboppers continued to post versions of the meme over the following weeks, but it really took off when Reels user freememevan21 started posting versions of the meme, many of which quickly gained hundreds of thousands of views since being shared.

How Is 'Jaking It' Used In Memes?

The Jaking It meme has now spread from Instagram Reels to TikTok thanks to TikToker @imjakeingit69, an account that's mostly dedicated to the format. Each version of the meme tends to follow the same format, starting with a random Adventure Time clip, then abruptly transitioning to the Jake Photoshop edit and the "I'm Jaking it" audio.

On TikTok, the audio is also being used on video unrelated to Adventure Time, such as a video showing sped-up footage of Super Nintendo World set to the audio. But for the most part, this is a tried-and-true bait-and-switch format.
