What Is The 'Minecraft Mob Vote Revolution?' TikTok's 'End The Mob Vote' Hashtag Explained
Over a decade after its release, Mojang's Minecraft remains one of the most popular games of all time. However, some players aren't too happy with Mojang after the announcement of the 2023 mob vote, an annual event where players are given the option to vote for one of three potential mobs to be added to the game, with this year's options being the crab, penguin or the armadillo.
Players are so mad that they've sparked a revolution through the "end the mob vote" hashtag, demanding Mojang release all three mobs and end the event. Here's why.

What Is The '2023 Minecraft Mob Vote Revolution?'
Last week, Mojang announced 2023's mob vote options, revealing one of the three potential mobs per day between October 3rd and the 5th. The mob vote has been going for a few years now and allows players to vote on one of the given mobs, with the winner being added to the game. In past years, the Sniffer, Allay and Glow Squid were winners of the vote.
The Minecraft community often gets a bit heated during the mob vote as players campaign for the mob they want to win through memes and posts. Recently though, players have been considering how much is lost with each mob vote, as none of the losing mobs have ever been added to Minecraft despite the interesting new possibilities they could bring to the game.
On October 6th, a graphic showcasing all the mobs that lost the vote started going viral on Reddit, then a Change.org petition was started calling for an end to the mob vote. The next day, a TikToker posted a video to the hashtag "#endthemobvote" sharing the points of the petition and encouraging players to rally against the mob vote.
The main arguments for ending the mob vote include stopping Mojang from pitting the community against itself and getting more content into the game, as all the mobs presented in the vote are assumedly coded and ready to add to the game.

How Are People Supporting The 'End The Mob Vote' Revolution?
Since going viral, TikTokers are using the hashtag "#endthemobvote" and the original sound for the song "Feed the Machine" by Poor Man's Poison to protest the mob vote. Some videos share the major points behind the revolution and ask for support, while others share parody revolution-style posters about rising up against the mob vote and Mojang.
Many of these videos are posted through TikTok slideshows and the protest has been spreading online, with one viral post about the protest to X gaining over 100,000 likes in a few days.
