This TikTok trend latches on to "Nolan Grayson's Are you sure?" moment from the show's first episode.

The line in question comes from the pilot episode of the Invincible animated series, which premiered on March 26th, 2021.

In it, Mark Grayson (Invincible) is portrayed as a teenager waiting for the superpowers he got from his dad (Omni-Man) to manifest. One day, he accidentally slings a bag of trash into the stratosphere and realizes that he's finally got his powers, telling his parents over dinner.

Instead of being excited for him, his father, Nolan Grayson, gives him a once-over and asks, "Are you sure?" It's a weirdly flat response that makes more sense once you know some spoilers about Nolan (who's what's known as a Viltrumite in the comics). Still, the delivery stuck with fans.

But the meme didn't truly gain traction online until March 9th, 2025, when TikTok user @mbvlayne uploaded the first known "Are You Sure?" edit, slowing down the interaction and adding a pregnant pause after Nolan's statement.

The video racked up 1.2 million views and 280,000 likes in a week, kicking off a wave of YTP-style remixes over the following months.

The trend quickly spread in March and April 2025, with other TikTokers putting their own spin on the awkward dinner table conversation.

For instance, on March 17th, 2025, TikToker @realomniman8 posted a dimmed-down version of the scene, leading commenters to joke about the Grayson family's unpaid light bills.
