One joke, in particular, has been going around for almost a decade, which suggests British actress Millie Bobby Brown is homophobic and that she runs over gay men with her car.

On June 14th, 2018, Millie Bobby Brown's X account was suddenly deactivated, leading many to speculate that the controversy surrounding the hoax memes led to the account's shutdown. That day, CNN published an article titled "Millie Bobby Brown Leaves Twitter Amid Cyberbullying."
