A well-disguised groyper account on Twitter / X came under scrutiny recently for seemingly predicting the January 2024 Chabad Synagogue Tunnels months before news about it went mainstream. The man who calls himself Richard Strocher claims to be a Gen Z conservative affiliated with everything from Fox News to The Blaze, but further digging reveals that no such legitimate connections exist.

Nevertheless, Richard Strocher's internet presence has gathered notoriety online, with some people just now coming to terms with the fact that his name could be interpreted in a rather rude manner. Here's a peek into the account's history, and a look at his most notable posts online.

When Did Richard Strocher First Appear Online?

Richard Strocher made his X / Twitter account in December 2022, with his earliest posts appearing in 2023. He frequently interacts with and posts about Republican politicians, and makes political statements many would consider edgy or offensive.

What Was Richard Strocher's Jewish Tunnels Post?

In January 2024, Richard Strocher posted screenshots of what appeared to be his own tweets dating back to November 2023, where he said that he kept "hearing yiddish" under the floor of his NY apartment and that it sounded like they were "digging or something." He went so far as to clarify that he lives in a ground-floor apartment without a basement.

Why Do People Think Richard Strocher Is A 'Groyper' Account?

"Groypers" are a group of internet trolls frequently associated with far-right commentator Nick Fuentes. These Pepe-adjacent accounts are known for their disingenuous trolling online, not unlike the style of posting Richard Strocher has come to be associated with.

Following the viral spread of Strocher's posts, journalist Taylor Lorenz posted a TikTok disproving Richard Strocher's claims, saying that he had lied in his bio about being employed by Fox News, was a noted Groyper account, did not live in Crown Heights in New York City and that the screenshots showed "signs of manipulation."
