Weekend Meme Roundup: Traumatized Mr. Incredible, 'Certified Lover Boy' Parodies, He-Man Advice

Welcome to the Weekend Roundup, where the newest meme trends of the weekend are rounded up and examined more closely. This past weekend was a good mix of old combined with current media.

The resurgence of the He-Man Advice meme template from years gone by was refreshing, as was seeing Drake have a new meme in the parodies of his album art for Certified Lover Boy. Bridging that gap is Traumatized Mr. Incredible, which has seen use as both a reaction image and a standalone meme template.

Traumatized Mr. Incredible

Traumatized Mr. Incredible refers to a series of comparison memes based on two images of Mr. Incredible, one an official art for The Incredibles 2 and the other a "reverse toonified" and black-and-white version of the character that gives him an expression of a man experiencing emotional pain. There are also versions of the meme that just use a slightly different variant of the original image to create a sense of difference and wrong without needing to be as creepy.

Certified Lover Boy Cover Parodies

Certified Lover Boy cover parodies refers to photoshops and parodies of the album art for Drake's 2021 album Certified Lover Boy. The original cover features 12 pregnant women emojis of different races and sparked debate after its reveal over whether it was a "good" album cover or not, and what it meant. The cover was parodied by multiple people, including Lil Nas X, due to the goofiness in using a bunch of emojis as official album art.

He-Man Advice

He-Man Advice is an exploitable meme from Masters of the Universe in which He-Man gives a helpful tip, then rides away. It usually ends with "until next time" or "thanks for coming to my TED Talk." The meme originated back in 2013 but has had a major revival in late August into September, partially due to the creation of the Skeletor Facts meme that derives from it.
