Certified Lover Boy Cover Parodies refers to photoshops and parodies of the cover for Canadian recording artist Drake's 2021 album "Certified Lover Boy." The original cover features 12 Pregnant Woman Emojis of different races and sparked debates after its reveal over whether it was a good album cover or not, and what it meant. The cover was parodied numerous times over the following days leading up to the album's release on September 3rd, 2021.

Origin

On August 30th, 2021, Drake posted the cover for his album "Certified Lover Boy" on Instagram,[1] which was released on September 3rd. The album cover is a piece by artist Damien Hirst and shows three rows of four Pregnant Woman Emojis, totalling 12, with varied skin tones and sweater colors over a white background (shown below). The post gained over 4.1 million likes in four days.

Spread

The day the album cover was announced, people began posting parodies of it replacing the Pregnant Woman Emojis with other emojis or images. For example, on that day, rapper Lil Nas X posted a parody of the cover to Instagram[2] featuring the Pregnant Man Emoji, gaining over 1.2 million likes in four days (shown below).

On the same day, Twitter[5] user @drac0srevenge posted, "android users when certified lover boy drops" along with a version of the cover featuring Android's version of the Pregnant Woman Emoji, gaining over 55,000 likes and 8,000 retweets in four days (shown below).

On August 31st, Instagram[3] page @fingees posted a version of the album cover using Among Us crewmates instead of the women, gaining over 4,500 likes in three days (shown below, left). On the same day, Twitter[4] user @KiddTheArtist__ posted a version replacing the women with pregnant male characters from various media franchises (shown below, right).
