Another week, another weekly meme roundup, and this time, we're serving the Family Guy lovers and Chromebook haters something special.

On top of that, the deliberately strange "Zendaya Theory" took over an unreasonably large portion of our brains, the new, Chicago-born pope became the talk of the town and The Croods made a big comeback through memes.

Here are five of the biggest memes of the past week that you need to catch up on.

Zendaya Theory

Kicking off this week's top memes is a bizarre parody of creepypastas known as the Zendaya Theory that focuses on actress Zendaya and a comically oversized Armani hat she wore back in 2014.

@thesnakesbloxx Mama hat #zendaya #hat #meme #fyp #zendayaglitch #ethelcain ♬ Perverts – Ethel Cain

The Zendaya Theory was started by TikToker @thesnakesbloxx at the beginning of May. It all started when the user posted a strange edit that begins with Zendaya refusing to pick a favorite Beyoncé song before cutting to a few low-res images of her wearing a big hat.

These hat images come from the actress's 2014 appearance at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party and became a pretty big meme among her fans over the following years. Nobody could have predicted that those photos would get dug up in 2025 and become the subject of a needlessly creepy and completely random meme.

After the first video went viral, TikTokers continued to post absurdly edited videos focused on the hat images. The videos seem to suggest something sinister happened to Zendaya concerning the hat, but none explain what that sinister thing is.

In fact, most of the memes look to make things more vague and confusing, which is the entire point of the meme. The further you look for answers to the Zendaya Theory, the quicker you'll realize it's just meant to be a silly, kinda spooky meme about a funny photo of Zendaya in a big hat.

If You See Me Out In Quahog

On the other side of TikTok, Peter Griffin and some of the most popular animated dads on TV came together to record the viral hit parody song, "If You See Me Out In Quahog."

@rexboxlive Nope it’s too late I’m already Pete . . . #petergriffin #familyguy #parody #voiceimpression #homersimpson #thesimpsons ♬ original sound – rexboxlive

The song, posted and recorded by TikToker @rexboxlive, features verses from Homer Simpson, Stan Smith, Bob Belcher and Peter Griffin as they moodily sing about their lives in their respective communities. Peter's line made a big impact on TikTokers when the video dropped.

Soon after, TikTokers began setting it to footage from Family Guy, creating lyric videos out of it and reacting to it in general. The song even references another increasingly popular Family Guy meme with the line, "Even at my Lois, I'm a Family Guy."

What some people might not know is that the song is a parody of the Wifiskeleton song "Nope Your Too Late I Already Died," which has also been going viral on TikTok this year.

In a tragic coincidence, Wifiskeleton reportedly died only days into the parody's virality, resulting in a lot of condolences for the young musical artist in the comment sections of the memes that use the track.

F Students Are Inventors / Chromebook Annihilation

Bad students earned some extra credit this week thanks to the viral "F Students Are Inventors" meme, which became forever tied to the destructive Chromebook Annihilation Combo and durability tests trend.

The "F students" clip comes to us courtesy of business and fitness influencer Ben Azoulay. In April, he posted a video hyping up students who get a lot of Fs, claiming that in society, they're "inventors."

Honestly, it's a fairly uplifting message, but TikTokers were quick to flip it on its head and turn it into a meme that looks to prove Mr. Azoulay very wrong. One example of this is by tying it to the Chromebook Durability Test trend, which essentially just has students destroying their Chromebooks in a variety of ways.

Destroying your Chromebook in the name of a TikTok trend is pretty much the opposite of inventing something, making these two memes a perfect pairing. Just don't ask who's responsible for paying for all these broken computers.

Pope Leo XIV

The world got a new pope, Pope Leo XIV, this week, and in a very meme-able turn of events, he's from Chicago.

Pope Leo XIV is officially the new leader of the Catholic church, and the internet had a lot of praise to pour on the man this week, whether it was about his "J.D. Vance Is Wrong" tweet or the simple fact that he's from good old 'merica. Pope Leo XIV is actually the first ever American pope, making this a pretty significant historical moment.

On the other hand, he could be a spy sent to the papacy by J.D. Vance, who some believe killed the last pope when he shook his hand — if you're one to take memes as facts (you shouldn't).

This week, we saw tons of memes about the conclave, memes the seagulls near the chimney and, most importantly, memes about Chicago. Here's to our new, deep-dish-loving pope.

Examples

Rhymes With Grug

Finally, the 2013 animated film The Croods had an unexpected revival recently on TikTok thanks to the "Rhymes With Grug" meme, based on the memeable character Grug.

The meme is based on a scene from the movie in which Grug the caveman, naming various things, says, "I call it a rug, rhymes with Grug. And this one, I call it a ride, rhymes with Grug."

The scene became the occasional subject of memes in the late 2010s and early 2020s, but it blew up this week on TikTok through a series of memes in which people use "rhymes with Grug" as an excuse for doing bad things, like solving math problems using made-up formulas or vehicular manslaughter.

Seeing a meme based on The Croods in 2025 was not on a whole lot of people's 2025 bingo cards, but clearly, the fandom is still alive and thriving, propelling this format to one of the biggest memes of the week.
