Overview
The 2026 Minneapolis, Minnesota, ICE Shooting of Renee Good refers to the fatal shooting of a woman named Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent (later identified as Jonathan E. Ross) as she attempted to drive away from a group of agents. A video of the incident went viral on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026, the day the incident took place. In the clip, an ICE agent is seen attempting to open the driver's side door of the SUV (a burgundy Honda Pilot), and the vehicle is then seen driving off as another agent stands near the front of the car. The latter agent fires three times into the windshield and driver's side of the SUV, which then veers off and stops after striking another parked car.
The incident took place during a notable increase in ICE presence in Minneapolis regarding the city's Somali population. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. President Donald Trump defended the incident as self-defense, claiming the driver was attempting to run over the agent, which the mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, disagreed with. The incident inspired widespread reactions online, particularly as people debated whether it was justified or qualified as brutality.
About two weeks after Good was shot and killed, an ICE agent fatally shot 37-year-old Alex Pretti in Minnesota, escalating criticism towards ICE and the Trump administration.

DHS says the woman is dead," garnering over 4.8 million views and 21,000 likes in several hours.
In the video, ICE agents are seen approaching an SUV. One of the agents attempts to open the driver's side door, which appears to be locked. The vehicle then veers off the road and stops after crashing into a parked car.[10]
The person recording is heard cursing and asking what the agent did as they rush to the vehicle. She accuses the agents of being criminals. She yells "shame" at one of the agents as he walks by, and more onlookers gather around the scene. The woman filming then approaches the car to film the driver, who is seen bleeding in the driver's seat. Agents then tell her to step away from the scene. She exclaims, "You shot someone in the face," and questions if they have a conscience. She yells, "Don't let the murderer leave."
The scene continues to escalate as people accuse the ICE agent of being a murderer. Reports that day confirmed that the driver of the vehicle was killed.[2] It was later reported that the shooting is being investigated by both the FBI and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.[10]
