Welcome to the weekend roundup, where the trending memes of the past weekend are rounded up and examined more closely. This past weekend saw the continued rise of Chaosposting from the Final Fantasy XVI trailer, as well as a long-needed update to some Batman lore. Also in the mix is the classic typo, Skamtebord bestowed upon us by beloved internet and barely recognized street celebrity, Tony Hawk.

Batman Will Never Go Down

It has now been confirmed, via an interview mentioning DC Comics directly stating, that Batman does not go down. There was a myriad of responses to this, such as people slamming DC comics for puritanical views, or feeling bad for Catwoman because they have been a couple in-universe for a while now. Many people, including Zack Snyder, have posted memes or images that go against the narrative set by DC, claiming that Batman does indeed go down.

Skamtebord

Skamtebord is a meme where someone will pretend to DM a celebrity, sports player or otherwise expert in a chosen field, and the reply back will simply one misspelled word that relates to their known profession. The most prominent example of this is with someone messaging Tony Hawk to which he replied "skamtebord" although other versions exist where the entire punchline is that a word is misspelled, without any celebrity or other type of setup required, such as with "Golira."

Chaosposting

Chaosposting is the term given to references, either directly or indirectly, to the newest Final Fantasy game that was shown at E3 recently. In the game, the protagonist repeatedly mentions his need to beat and kill chaos, prompting content creators online to create memes about chaos, finding chaos, killing chaos and other similar styles of references. Screenshots from the presentation itself have been used in different object-labeling meme formats.
