Tony Hawk is an American professional skateboarder and entrepreneur. One of the most well-known skateboarders in the world, Hawk has also lent his name to the popular video game series Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
History
Tony Hawk was born May 12th, 1968.[1] He became a professional skater in 1982 at age 14. He was quickly successful, winning many skating competitions at a young age.[2] On June 27th, 1999, he became the first skater to land a 900 (shown below). At age 48, he landed his final 900. Hawk has also appeared in numerous films and television series and become an entrepreneur, developing tours, amusement park rides, and a YouTube channel.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is a series of skateboarding sports video games. On September 30th, 1999, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was released for the PlayStation video game console. The game, which featured 3-D renderings of professional skateboarders and popular soundtrack of hip-hop and punk rock music, was soon ported onto numerous other consoles, including Nintendo 64, GameBoy Advanced and more.
The game begat numerous sequels. The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise released 12 games, including Tony Hawk's Ride, Tony Hawk's Underground, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground and more.

Hawk has often tweeted about moments in his life when people don't recognize him or say something about "Tony Hawk" without realizing who they're talking to.
