Streaming services arguably used to sound slick (Netflix or even Prime Video come to mind), but somewhere along the way, we ended up with things like Tubi, Hulu and Hoopla, which sound less like platforms and more like cartoon noise punchlines.

Naturally, the internet took it and ran, inventing even dumber names like "Poob," "Heebee" and "Weeno" to complete the joke.

If you've recently seen someone earnestly say, "Poob has it for you," and thought you were missing a new app or suffering a stroke, this explainer is here to walk you through the meme-ification of C-grade streaming platforms.

Where Did Jokes That Go 'Poob Has It' Come From?

It all started on Tumblr in March 2024 when user @orcboxer posted a now-iconic ramble about fictional streaming services. The post rattled off a nonsense lineup (Tubu, Heebee, Dippy, Poodee) with an emphatic finish: "Poob has it for you."

The post parodied how friends might insist a show is "definitely on something" while confidently naming every niche off-brand streaming service in existence. The post hit over 100,000 notes in under a year.

In June 2024, Twitter / X user @SMlTTENMITTENS copypasted the bit with minimal edits, racking up 10,000 likes. While the meme didn’t immediately blow up, this tweet helped ferry it off Tumblr and onto the broader internet as it continued to spread.

How Did Memes About “Poob” Spread Online?

After simmering for a bit, "Poob Has It for You" finally caught on as a catchphrase in early 2025.

In January 2025, Tumblr user @sploon-fic-fan posted, "poob straight up has it for me. and by ‘it’ i mean. well lets just say. the show," earning over 5,000 notes on a post referencing the Straight Up Jorking It meme in four months.

By March, the parody blog @Poob-Official began roleplaying as the service itself. A March 7th, 2025, post shows the account responding to a tweet that read, "I know its a joke but 'Poob has it for you' annoys me so much because Poob is region locked. Poob does NOT have it for you if you're outside of the US and Canada." about Poob being region-locked hit 20,000 notes in two months.

Then came the thematic spinoffs. In April, Bluesky user @maiamindel rewrote the meme as a post-financial-crash meltdown that declared, "It reached the Poob."

Days later, the parody account WatchPoob posted a joke poster advertising Goncharov, a non-existent film that arose out of a collective writing project on Tumblr in 2024. The post gathered over 90,000 notes in three weeks as the parody platform continued to gain more attention.

What Are Some More Memes About 'Poob'?

Jokes about streaming things on 'Poob continued well into April 2025, and spawned a number of viral posts on Tumblr, a few of which are shown below.
