What Is The 'Hiccup Cult' On TikTok?

The Hiccup Cult is a group of loosely collected TikTokers who have changed their profile pictures to images of the character Hiccup from How To Train Your Dragon.

Many of these are edits of an image of Hiccup crossing his arms over his chest, while others use Hiccup in different poses. But who started this trend?

The Hiccup Cult trend was unintentionally started by TikToker @annesstinkysock on April 18th, 2025. On that day, she posted a video laughing about how funny she realized the image of Hiccup with his arms crossed is after making it her profile picture.

The video subsequently went viral with over 2.5 million views in under a week and inspired some viewers to change their profile pictures too, sparking the cult over the following days.
