For all Android users: I found a nifty little app on the Play Store by accident. This app supposedly allows for all Android users to have a .gif as a "live wallpaper"

I've tried it myself with a few .gifs I made in the past and it worked great. I find this awesome as hell and have a plan for this new discovery. I want to build a database of potential .gifs to use on multiple devices for live wallpapers. Both original artwork, and all other .gifs

That's where ya'll fellow android users come in. I'll need a lot of help to accomplish this.
What I need:

•Participation of course. I'll need people to actually download the app and try out .gifs on their own devices.

•Ideas, LOTS of ideas. Anything that would be considered worthy as a live wallpaper. Think, if you see a .gif and are like "that'd be a great background on my phone" lemme hear it.

•Intelligent feedback. I've used live wallpapers forever and know their ups and downs. They can drain a significant amount of battery if your not careful. I'm interested to see how this app handles that problem. We can still help though by making simpler .gifs, although I'll get into that later. I'd like users to report any glitches bugs or problems they have while using the app too.

•Discussion. There's lots to discuss on the matter as well. Feel free to express any thought on the matter(its what keeps threads alive after all) One of the most important aspects that needs to be addressed is a lovely home for all these .gifs once there completed. I'm not sure where to put them a the moment, but that can come later.

•Contribution. If you come across a .gif you want added to this project, send it my way and I'll fix it up. Also, if you're an artist and want to contribute, that'd be wonderful. If you need any help with the .gif process or anything at all, I'll be glad to help if I can.

Finally, any and all help will be both appreciated and welcomed. I have most of the Idea hammered out in my head and I feel I can accomplish it all on my own, but I'll never turn down help.

I've provided some useful resources for those who like to get their hands dirty:

There are several useful reasons to knowing the resolution of your device(Such as cropping and re sizing) so I've provided some here:

Galaxy Note III 1920 × 1080
Galaxy Y 320 × 240
Galaxy Ace 480 × 320
Galaxy SIII Mini 800 × 480
Galaxy SIII 1280 × 720
Galaxy S4 1920 × 1080
Galaxy Nexus 1280 × 720

HTC One Max 1920 × 1080
Nexus 4 1200 × 768
Galaxy Mega 1280 × 720
Kindle Fire HD 1280 × 800

Sony Xperia Z Ultra 1920 × 1080
Kindle Fire 1024 × 600
Tesco Hudl 1400 × 900
Nexus 7 1st gen 1280 × 800
Nexus 7 2nd gen 1824 × 1200

Kindle Fire HDX 2560 × 1600
Galaxy Tab 2 1280 × 800
Galaxy Tab 3 1280 × 800
ASUS Transformer 1280 × 800
ASUS Transformer 2 1920 × 1200
Nexus 10 2560 × 1600
Galaxy Note 10.1 2560 × 1600
Dell Aero 360 X 640
Motorola Pro+ MB632 480 X 640
Nexus S 800 × 480

That is nowhere near all android devices but that should be a decent start(there are like a thousand Samsungs alone)

If your device is not listed here gimme a shout and I'll add it.

.gifs have 8 different color "depths" ranging from 2 to 256. 256 colors is the maximum color range for a gif. It works great with many kinds of art that uses flat colors. Its not good for art that uses heavy transitions of shading as those types of artwork can use thousands of colors, thus distorting the final gif.
Also, it should be obvious but the larger the .gif, both in size(resolution) and frames, the more resources the .gif takes up. Large and complicated .gifs can tax even a decent machine. My goal is to lessen the drain of these gifs while still keeping quality.

I'll keep adding to this post as more information comes up.(Also, I'd like to request ability to update original post to keep stuff organized, if that'd be possible. I'd appreciate it greatly.)

So, if you want to join in, go download that app and start using .gifs. It automatically scales gifs for you.
If for any reason you're unable to get it to work or it isn't compatible with your device lemme know and we'll see if we can resolve it.

And remember, have fun!
