Don't worry about it, I've been writing music for 2 years now. At first i had no concept of good and bad, it was all shit but i was 13. Then I went through a period of hating everything i wrote. Now I just work at it until i write something i like.

The way i see it, you just have to listen and learn music you want to write like, then start making up stuff until you find something you like. sometimes you like something but start to hate it before you finish it and sometimes you'll stick at it and end up with something you're proud of.

to be honest though everybody writes differently, this is just how i do.

For this song, I'm trying to find a song that matches the mood of Rainbow Factory. First try didn't work. Second try, getting close.

what sort of genre are you going for? do you know any music theory? play any instruments?

Think I discovered my first mistake. Using drums instead of a percussion synth.

The way I see it (from the point of view of a musically inept person, hence the lack of Vinyl Scratch fics from me, despite my love for her), the fact that you know how to compose music at all is awesome.

I'm certain this doesn't help with you thinking everything you compose is garbage, but at least you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that I could never think anything you compose is garbage.

About Citation's pic:

Lyra, why are you so damn weird?

If you hadn't been talking about genociding the equines about half an hour before posting that….

You're trying to compose music without any musical theory?
I don't know much about composition, but that doesn't sound very good.

well i can't really help you seeing as i write primarily metal music, all i can say is try learning some keys: if you're writing something happy (which i doubt) then learn a major key; if you're writing sad/ angry music learn a minor key; and if you're writing something sinister learn a harmonic minor key or just learn a minor key but try to go out of key at parts.

that's how i would go about it explained moderately simply.

Also, this is sad.

Just read it. It took a moment for me to get it, and then a reread for me the see the implications of Dad not being home. It was like an emotional punch to the face.

Oh a happier note, at least Scootaloo has parents.

The fics and comics where she's an orphan always make me sad.

I don't know if I'm really up to reading it now… I'm perfectly fine being not sad at the moment.

Oh dear, that's not going to please some fans though.

On another topic, where do you get these blindbag ponies from, cause I do want now that they're making male ones.

If the goal of the internet was to please everyone, there'd be no such thing as bronyism.

We'd also be a hive mind.

Because that's the only way the Internet could have been invented with that idea in mind.

Anyways these things does anyone know where to get them? I'm guessing Toys R Us, but I'd like confirmation.

Either that or we'd all be like this…

I'm sure that they'll be shipped out to Toys R Us and the like. For now, it doesn't look like you can really get them anywhere (other than Taobao, the auction site).

You'd think that EqD would tell us if we could, and I'm not seeing it, so I guess they aren't available yet or something.

Well, where do you find the current batch is probably what I should've asked.

I'll give you a guarantee.

If you find my story grimdark. I will never post on KYM again.

I'm that sure that it is not grimdark and I specifically wrote it to apologize to you.

So in a way all of us are kind of a insectoid race when it comes to the internet?
