Anyone ever noticed Spike seems to get no love? I mean, think about it. Even though he's considered a main character, he doesn't even appear on the title card at the end of the opening! Seriously, what the Hell?

well he's really just twilight's assistant and the message dragon, they don't have much use for him…

I don't think I was as active when you were trying to figure out the fandom and your perspective on it and the show, but I'm glad you came to terms with it for yourself. I really do think most of the people on this thread are interested in memes (and other stuff) outside of Pony, so we don't have to even bring it up.
 
As for being a Brony, you can take Daniel Vazquez's approach and just be knowledgeable enough in the submemes to take part. Or just lurk about. Or nothing at all (in which case, I'll see you on some of the other threads). It's not a Brony-exclusive thread, as your karma and Kalmo's karma shows. I'm glad to see other people post on here: good, bad (not trollish), or neutral.

Well, I figure the opening sequence was focused around what the creators and Hasbro thought would be hook of the show. At this point, every character is popular enough so that an entire opening sequence revolving around that character could make sense. I think no one saw the popularity of Spike coming.

Alternative hypothesis: Spike steals the show. He doesn't need to be given a part in the opening.
