Well it's okay if we do it a little in the thread at times as long it's not constant so it's perfectly okay as long it does not last to long.
By the way:
C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!
Here's a normal gif:
You didn't say that it couldn't be Pinkie Pie.

So I've been trying to like this show for a while now, as some of you probably know. In my ongoing quest I decided to give "May the Best Pet Win!" a shot. I waited for a time when I was on my meds and in a good mood, so I wouldn't get irritated and nitpicky.
My thoughts?
It was decent. The challenge was looking at it from a cartoon perspective, which is foreign to me because I didn't watch cartoons as a kid. I kept having to tell myself to try not to be too analytical and to try to pass things off as artistic choices or non-canonical.
Even so, the ponies knowing the lyrics to and improv song, Tank lifting the rock and Rainbow Dash impacting the wall hard enough to crack it (without dying) really challenged my suspension of disbelief.
Also, RD acted like sort of a dick in this one. She clearly isn't cut out for pet ownership.
There were some moments that made me chuckle, though. the "Dun dun dun" gag and Fluttershy getting so excited are two examples of things I thought were funny.
It's still one of those things that's a bit awkward to watch even when there's no one around, though (though less awkward than it was at first).
But in the end, it was okay, I guess.
Nah, I kid.
It's good to see you're willing to give the show a second chance. Personally, I didn't think that episode was one of the best. I thought it was one of the worst from the new season (on par with 'The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well' and better than 'The Cutie Pox') but still better than a lot of season 1 episodes. Rainbow Dash did seem a bit obnoxious, and while the humour was decent, I wouldn't say it was anything special.

A Pinkie Pie fan? Then he'd love the thread right now. :)

Moargun as a brony and posting in this thread.
As if it wasn't perverted enough already with just me, Berry, Connor and Daniel.

Just Read it.
I think so far it sounds pretty good, I'd like to continue reading it.
I'm terrible at critique but I spotted a little mistake.
"they enjoyed the fruits of there labor, literally."
the 'there' should be 'their'.
Also, welcome to moargun and Nintendork64!

Epic solution to your problem:
Ignore it
Like it or not, those parodies are here to stay. If the end of DRESS.MOV is to be trusted, we can expect at least another 4 to be made, and I can bet that each one will get a fair amount of coverage by the fandom on release. It's fair enough if you don't find them funny (it only got 3/5 stars on EqD, so you're not alone there), but you can't expect them to simply disappear. Same goes for Trollestia and Molestia.

You seem to underestimate me, dear sir.
That was humor. It's the only way to deal with the amount of coverage the parodies get (especially in the image gallery). As for Molestia and Trollestia, I'm coping by using my knowledge that Celestia isn't that cruel or perverted.
@lolstaz: You drank the water??
Wow, those two images go well together.
But in the end, it was okay, I guess.
I'm glad it wasn't so bad this time around, Nintendork. I agree with Algernon in saying that there are better episodes in Season 2, but I don't dislike May the Best Pet Win.
Also, guys, Moargun was the only one that declared "Bronydom."
All Nintendork64 said was "decent" and okay." Neither of which indicates the addiction or following of the show/fandom to which most of us submit. He doesn't have to be "OMG PONIEZ," of course, but I don't want to throw a name onto him if he doesn't want it yet.
Anywho, I hope to see moar of your posts on this thread, Moargun. And feel free to jump in on conversation when you feel like it, Nintendork. If you decide to watch another episode, we'll be more than happy to give out more suggestions than you actually need.

A lot more than he needs, in fact.
@Lolstaz: We need to find you a doctor! Fast!!
Hello guys. Quick dropby.
Won't be posting today: Sister's graduation party. And still got school tomorrow XP
Anyways, hope you have some nice conversation this night.
And the only doctor around leaves right away. Not good. Hopefully I can find some baked bads so you can puke it out.
Godspeed Ideo, Godspeed.
Anypony have any baked bads?
This is how the Pinkie Cannon works, y'all.
Also, science says Twilight is best pony. Well, it's statistics, but the interpretation seems to be pretty good. I've seen several studies take what seems to be good data and interpret it poorly. He didn't say that lower sample sizes in women possibly lead to more variation in the results overall for that demographic and a lessened likelihood of finding significance due to a lack of power, blah blah blah, but I really like it.
I'd also like to tap that dataset he used sometime.
EDIT: …what the crap, Ideological?
Hay guys tell me what do you think of these?
The love for them can piss off the haters while his hate can piss off the bronies but over all it confuses both but just hate him in general.

On another note, I watched Sweet and Elite again earlier today, and I noticed Pinkie's voice really did sound different.

Oh thank god you're kidding… You have no idea how much that image annoys me >_<
I'm definitely not in the herd by any means. I still hate the fact that this site is overrun with ponies, and, er, there's a possibility I'm using Adblock to block pony related content form showing up… heh heh…
I'm glad people are willing to recommend episodes to me. I have an incredibly weak suspension of disbelief, so things that are too "out there" or that don't make sense break it and annoy me. Think Twilight Sparkle in FPK, but with less bursting into flames. So nothing with too much Pinkie Pie, I mostly find her annoying.
Also, I'm not big on slapstick, which is tough because that's mostly what cartoons are. I tend to like dry humor and sarcasm, and I like the moments in this show that are clever, such as the Flutterguy part from Bridle Gossip (easily my favorite episode, it's the only one I've really liked so far).

Paragraph 1: I agree. I hate the "herd" label.
Paragraph 2: I really don't think the site is "overrun" by any means. Ponies are in this thread and its articles, and that's it. Even mentioning ponies in passing outside of here will get you downvoted to oblivion and back.
Paragraphs 3 and 4: To be perfectly honest, I am exactly the same way. I love wit and satire, and I'm not a huge fan of slapstick either. I also have a weak WSOD, hence why some things (E.G., the perverted company names in GTA) annoy me a lot.
And yet I love the fuck out of this show.

Well, just go to the "videos", "images", "best of 2011" or "activities" near the top of the page, or compare The number of posts in this thread to others, or look at the avatars people use, or the view counts things get… that's what I mean about it being overrun… This is a site for memes, and yet some use it as their personal pony fanbase…
I've given up trying to do something about it, though, I just get insulted.
But I'm confused as to why you like this show if you don't like slapstick and have a weak willing suspension of disbelief… What do you see in it that I don't?
So nothing with too much Pinkie Pie…
Gonna scroll on up and find that image…resize that, annnnd…

There we go.
I’m not big on slapstick, which is tough because that’s mostly what cartoons are. I tend to like dry humor and sarcasm, and I like the moments in this show that are clever, such as the Flutterguy part from Bridle Gossip (easily my favorite episode, it’s the only one I’ve really liked so far).
You certainly seem to be up on what some of the episodes have to offer. And even though I enjoy witty humor, I'm quite partial to the slapstick in FiM too. (which explains my favorites of Twilight and Pinkie.) So you may want to pay more heed to other users' suggestion than mine.
- I actually enjoyed Over a Barrel from Season 1 for the dialogue, but it's filled with Pinkie being Pinkie, and it ends with pure slapstick with slapstick moments throughout. (And most people hate that episode, but only because they don't recognize the god-like writing of Dave Polsky. You fools!)
- I was originally going to suggest Luna Eclipsed as a general recommendation, but it's filled to the brim with Pinkie in a chicken suit, no less. But it certainly has a lot of dry humor based in sarcasm with an uncharacteristically lucid moment from Pinkie herself.
I can't think of another episode of the top of my head. The execution of the humor along with the style of the art tends to be the selling point, but the actual sell is probably just plain cuteness and having the characters grow on you. FiM has moments of dry wit and sarcasm, but I can't say if it has it in spades. Perhaps in the occasional bucket.
It has occasional buckets of snark.
Also, glad #citation's on the thread today. He may be the perfect person to hear from. He don't take no sh!t. Not even from Bronies.

Exactly. That's the thing.
For some reason, I just love it. It's the animation, the characterization, the voice acting, the generally good storylines… Hell, it may just be the fact I've finally found something on modern television I don't despise.
On another note, I applaud you for at least giving the show a try. If you don't like it, fine. Not everyone's cup of tea. I just hate it when people dismiss the show without even watching it.
Comments, comments everywhere… Well, better get cracking!
You don't forget to suggest things either!

@verbose: I've actually seen Luna eclipsed, and again, it was okay. I don't like the way they had Luna portrayed as loud and archaic, I would have much preferred a "fish out of water approach". Also, Pinkie Pie and the moral at the end (scaring little kids is good?) bothered me. I did enjoy the brief moments of snarkiness it had, but it didn't have much…
You know, it's odd, most people don't want to like the show and end up loving it, but I don't really like it that much, and want to love it… I'm a curious case for sure…

Look, guys, stop trying to force the show onto Nintendork. He doesn't like it. Simple as that. That's no reason to try and force him to like it. It's not everyone's "thing", so to speak.
