Wow, we got so much dirt out of that episode. :D

We learned Rarity's parents are either Wisconsinites (represent!) or Canadian, but judging by her dad's cutie mark a "cheesehead" comparison is too good to pass up. We learned that different species of pony can reproduce (her mom's a unicorn but her dad's an earth pony). And we finally have confirmation that Dinky is not related to Derpy, unless you're telling me Derpy is old enough to have another full grown adult daughter to take Dinky to the social.

Derpy went through time with Dr.Whooves. She accidently left her first kid in the past. Then they found each other reunited. Plus Derpy decided not to go back in time to get her back because her oldest daughter is best the way she is.

I've listened to that song 41 times on iTunes. That's not counting all the times I listened on YouTube before I bought the EP (which was a lot) and the times I listen to it from my phone. First time I heard it was on one of those silly videos where they loop Scratch headbanging. It ended up being the song that got me into dubstep and house etc. Something about the screechy sounds after 1:20 and the strong beats drew me in. It made me think, 'actually, I could really get into this sort of thing', and it got me interested in music again.

I'm already sad, because I'm afraid few people here (even in the US) will get that…

I asked that question about Rarity's dad. It didn't really look like there was anything under his hat, but Sweetie Belle can hide her horn when wearing a helmet, so I just know he's not a Pegasus.

I read one of the comments in the EqD linked 1080p.

"I'm GLAD that Derpy isn't a mother. Personally I'm tired of the fans thinking they run this show."

I certainly got a kick when it occurred to me that the people saying "They listen to us!" were going to be mad. As I said before, where is your fanon now?

No matter what they do, they're going to ruin somebody's fanon. Think of all those SadLuna fic writers and artists when they found that canon Luna was nothing like they'd imagined. I don't like it when some aspect of the fandom is ruined forever, but it's always far outweighed by whatever new things are introduced in the official canon. As for Derpy not being a mother, I'm sure I'll be able to cope with that loss (or to be blunt, I really don't give a damn).

I hope we see her parents again this season, there's another big rarity episode coming up so you never know. But I think for now people are just going to roll with the idea that her dad's an earth pony, I kinda like it, it opens lots of possibilities.

I always knew there was no way Derpy and Dinky had anything to do with each other, just because two ponies share a slightly similar color scheme doesn't mean they're related. That's why I try not to make too many assumptions about character's I'm not writing myself. Especially big, unjustifiable ones. But I admit I'm gunna miss Dinky's "plausible" status, so long as she wasn't being used for evil (weepypasta) she kinda grew on me.

Oh, also we learned that Sweetie Belle does not live with Rarity, she lives with her parents in town.
