WHERE'S MY NAME???

50 girls from assault? Don't tell me you're still in Syria?!

BTW, to whoever is tracking our nationalities. I'm a Saudi living in New Zealand?

@Dr.Gregory:

I don't follow many stereotypes of my nationality either (I mean, not many watch cartoons of pastel colored ponies…) I recall someone being amazed that I didn't smoke since pretty much every Saudi male he knew was a heavy smoker and I'm ashamed to say that that stereotype is pretty much true.

But still, PES2012 is far superior in footballing mechanics to FIFA12. Yes.

Good god, I spent 10 minutes writing that, should I be worried?

One, no. Embrace the time spent on posts. You will earn the respect of opspe, Algernon, BSoD, and I (implying that it's something you'd want.) burning_phoneix will try to take your crown.

Anywho, I generally disagree with you on reasoning. I didn't like a lot of the two-part season premieres but for reasons other than what you've listed.

  • I liked the first episode of the first season's premiere, and thoroughly enjoyed (most of) the second episode of the second season's premiere.
  • I disliked the second episode because the friendship really did seem forced. I didn't like the first episode of the first season, because it seemed rushed even considering the time constraints.

I don't really pay much attention to predictability in the plots of FiM, because I expect a certain level of simplicity given the target demographic. It's simple, but it isn't mind-numbing simplicity. And I'm generally impressed with the interactions and dialogue in most of the episodes including the premieres.

I…think they do differ in what FiM spirit is. The pilot set the show up to be a magical girl kind of show, which it was not. The second premiere is similar to the pilot as opposed to the slice of life shows we generally see.

I like the second season's premiere much better than the first. I will agree that even the second season;s premiere is very different, but I probably laughed more in those episodes than any other one.

Soon… Very soon…

You cannot escape your fate!

Owens, can you send me that Applelie version of myself? You were photoshopping it everywhere in the last thread.

Nope. Nopony rapes my sister without my permission.

I'm just gonna add on to this post forever…

Goodnight everypony!

Eeyup, the second 2 parter was a lot better. When I watched the first episode, it wasn't actually that great, and I almost forced myself to watch it. Good thing I continued watching on, because I'd really be missing out on a lot.

I think that with the first one, the had no idea they were going to get an audience of 20 year old guys, so they made it really childish, and not in a good way. Hasbro is doing a better job now though. Totally agree with your last paragraph. The first episodes made it seem like it would be another one of those friends save the world from eternal darkness yay we've seen this a million times before kind of thing. And then the ending comes and trollestia tells us noo, the entire conflict is over, and now it's just going to be pony interactions.

To be fair, I can't think of one show, or even movie, where I can't predict the ending correctly within a few minutes of watching it. Unless it's some sort of stupid plot twist ending. I think MLP does a pretty good job of making the linearity not too noticeable.

This is actually pretty intense for a kid's show. You have Pinkie/Twilight going insane in two episodes, which was really creepy (although moreso with twilight, pinkie's was just so cute, madame de flour ftw), Discord trolling everyone really hard and tormenting the ponies and making them evil, the plot (that kind of plot), copious amounts of slapstick humour, like when derpy dropped a bunch of stuff on twilight, etc. There's times where I think "how did the censors not catch that?"

Waiting for the right time to post my first picture in this thread…

Yup, still in Syria, when I'm not participating in a live re-enactment of Helm's Deep but with real injuries, I watch ponies, and people say bronies are not MANLY, psh..

I don't know what stereotypes my people are supposed to have… I don't smoke and most people don't either (too expensive I'm guessing), we hardly have a drop of oil in our land, almost 50% of girls here don't wear headscarves, males don't wear Jilbab (long white robes), only time I wore one I was in a costume party and I rode a camel ONCE in my life in U.A.E.
I think the normal Arab stereotypes don't really work on our country (or Lebanon for the matter), but if there are special stereotypes for us than I'm not aware of them.

As for PES12 vs. FIFA12:
we can't deny that in the old days PES far outmatched anything FIFA has to offer(I still have nightmares about FIFA 2000) but FIFA has slowly been closing the gap, in my opinion I'd say PES is still better, soon however, they will be evenly matched…

Trust me, 10 minutes isn't that bad. That's probably the minimum amount of time I spend on my posts. There have been times when I've wasted up to 40 minutes trying to get a post perfect, only to decide in the end that I actually don't want to post anything at all.

I thought the first two-parter was alright. It wasn't great, but it was obviously good enough to convince me to keep watching (if it hadn't been, I wouldn't be posting this right now). I quite enjoyed the first episode, even on my first viewing, and my reaction to the second was a little better than you'll hear from most people. The first part was really just an introduction to the characters, and in my opinion it did a great job at doing that. The second part didn't seem as creative as most other episodes, and like you say, the friendship did seem a bit forced, but I still think it had some funny moments. It was good enough to encourage me to watch episode 3 at least, but it was the later episodes that really drew me in.

As for Return of Harmony, they're actually two of my favourites. The beginning of the first half seemed a bit rushed, as did the very end of the second part, but I think the humour from Discord was the best the show's seen so far, and I loved the interactions between Twilight and the Discorded Mane 6 in part 2. The only thing that really bothered me about those episodes was how easily Discord was defeated at the end of part 2. I wanted him to put up some sort of fight, but instead he just sat there and let them win. I wouldn't say the second two-parter was forcing the whole 'friendship is magic' thing at all, and while the ending was obvious from a mile away, the rest of the plot wasn't that predictable in my opinion.

Goodnight everypony!

So it's come to this….I never thought it had to be this way but oh well.

So yesterday I was on the computer, doing nothing special just browsing Facebook and YouTube and such while my family is watching tv. Then I realize "You know, I should go take a shower before I leave for that thing I have tonight, but I haven't been EqD lately. I should do that before I go." So literally within half a minute of my accessing the site my dad comes out of flipping nowhere for no reason and happens to notice I'm on a site he doesn't recognize. So naturally he asks what it is.

So like a total BAWS I told him it was a My Little Pony news site because I love MLP.

lol, jk, I chickened out and said it was something I found on Facebook.

They didn't make season one with bronies in mind, so for all intents and purposes, the rest of season one should be just as "childish" as the first two episodes.
I'll never understand why people disliked the first two episodes so much as they did. I liked them. Sure, they're not my favorite episodes, but they're still really good, especially compared to all the other crap on TV.
Yes, The Return of Harmony, Part 1 felt rather rushed, but it was still awesome. Discord is the coolest villain in the history of forever (okay, I may be exaggerating just a bit), and… well, I dunno. I liked the two part season premieres.
I'll never understand their hatred.

Yes, but I honestly didn't want to have that whole thing go down in the middle of my family, right before I had to go somewhere with them and then hang out with my cousins for the evening.

I'm surprised they don't already. I visit KYM and EqD everyday, I use MLP catchphrases EVERYWHERE, even around family, and I text ALL my friends about ponies 'n' such. So really they have no excuse not to have at least a few suspicions at this point.

This f**king blog….

My troll senses are tingling…

Either that, or someone really needs to see a head doctor. That's beyond strange.

Anyway, if you think that's weird, check out this little gem that just appeared:

….Okay….let's move along now….

@Ideological the Rarity lover
Yeah I do think Celestia needs some lovins too despite how we all depict her as a Tyrant/Molester/Troll. She still can be a sweet heart.
Also:
Do you think that this is the cutest Dragonborn ever? :3

I love the art in this one…it gives the picture it's extra cuteness! X3

I gave up on the blog, because I don't care to hear confessions from people I don't know. I don't think they're funny. I don't get a kick out of the weird ones. And since it's been suggested that a lot of them may just be trolls using the blog to make the fandom look a certain way, I don't believe most of them are true unless someone here on KYM says it's theirs.

Still don't like Fluttershy much, by the way. And I don't have to. That's not what friendship is about. You like your friends. That's part of the reason why you're friends. You don't have to like everyone you meet. You should be respectful and tolerant of just about everyone, but you don't have to like them. I've found it to be more of a pathway to disaster to be friends with people you don't like, because you're (at least I would be) more likely to be irritable so that neither friend is enjoying the other's company. It also makes expressions of genuine affection mean less, because you throw it around too much.

Well, your opinion is WRONG, Aerostat! trolololololol

What then, bro? U mad? What're you going to do aboHow did I end up on the moon?

But yeah, I knew that was your opinion for a while now. I generally don't love any version of Celestia, and I generally dislike the Molestia and Tyrant versions. I like comics with Trollestia (like simple pranks, because I think simple pranks are within her character,) and I like the mysterious quality of canon Celestia on the whole.

Lauren Faust herself didn't want to specify to Faust herself just how much ability and power Celestia has. Apparently, not all students get a dragon egg to hatch for their entrance exam for the school of gifted unicorns. So why did a previously normal, perhaps better than average unicorn get a dragon egg (and subsequently a dragon?) Did she know that the mane six were destined to be the elements of harmony? (She did give Twilight a unique test at the exact time of the first Sonic Rainboom which triggered her immense power…)

How does Celestia know all of this? Did she just have a "feeling" about it? Is Celestia omniscient?

I'm not saying it was Alicorns…but it was Alicorns.

Also, Connor has the only Google search result for the above phrase prior to this post. Connor: You have coined this phrase.

Hay guise, long time no post.

You know, I've been thinking about making another movie poster/game cover, and this time I really want to draw the CMC.

The only problem is, that I really don't know what poster, or game cover to use, so I'm asking for your help, to see if you happen to have good ideas.

I already thought about doing Final Fantasy X-2, but then CSIMadMax beat me to it, and I don't want to draw something that has been done before. Another idea I got was ponifying the "Three Kings" poster, but I figured that you might have better ideas.

So, do you have any ideas of a cool game, or movie posters featuring three characters, that absolutely needs to be turned pony? And preferably something that actually CAN be ponified, so overly complicated poses won't do.

On other news, I got a bit bored at work training today, and decided to mess with the lyrics of that stupid old rap song "Baby Got Back", even if rap is one of the few genres I really don't like. Here's the lyrics, find the song on YouTube if you want. It's only the first 1:30 mins though.

I Like Big Books (Pony Got Books)

Intro

Oh, dear, Celestia. Lyra, look at her book.
It is so big. It looks like,
one of those scholar book things.
Who understands those scholar ponies.
They only read them because,
They make them look like total smartypants, 'kay.
I mean, her book, is just so big.
I can't believe it's just so massive, it's like,
out there, I mean – Whoah! Look!
It's just so … MAD!

==

I like big books and I cannot lie.
You other ponies can't deny.
When a tome opens with itty bitty text
And the words jump on your face
You get sprung, wanna read all night
'Cause you know that book was STUFFED!

Rich in the info's bearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop readin'
Oh book! I wanna kiss you.
And dust your cover.
Other ponies tried to warn me.
But this book makes me so dorky!

Ooh, page-o'-smooth text
You say you wanna get on my shelf?
Well, use me, use me
Cause you ain't that average Newsweek.

I've seen them dustin'
To hay with spellcastin'
It's thick, big
I'll flip page like a turbo Dash.

I'm tired of poniez
Saying fanfics are the thing
Take a genius girl and ask her that
Book's gotta back much back.

So, ponies! (What?) Ponies! (WHAT!?)
Has your shelves got the books? (Hay no!)
I'll tell you read 'em! (Diss 'em!) Read 'em! (Diss 'em!)
Read that healthy book!
Pony got books!

Pony got books!

I have a rather "meh" liking of Fluttershy. She's incredibly one dimensional, especially in comparison to the strong characterization of everypony else. She's mostly just cuteservice.

Well, that's not a bad idea, but I kinda haven't liked Sonic since his golden days on SEGA Genesis. Besides, I want to use the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and not ponify Sonic characters.

And this only has one character, and even that is a bit boring…

@burning_phoneix

I'll save that pic to my poster folder. Maybe that'll happen. But haven't I seen Derpy wear the exact same costume on some pic.

@Ideological
Those moments are few and far between. Despite those clips, with her screentime/characterization ratio, she's by far the most one dimensional character on the show.

Hey everyone, I saw this and thought you guys might like it.

Edit: @Ideological: I'm sorry but… you speak of "love and tolerance", and yet you're all up in arms about our opinions?

Edit2: Also, just to let you know that you're not alone. I also prefer Celestia's canon personality. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy the idea of her being a troll. You shouldn't shun the rest of the candy store just because you love chocolate.

Hmmm. This doesn't make things any better. To be honest, I'm starting to have thoughts about leaving this thread. You guys are just too critical. Whatever happened to love and tolerance?

@Iambob: Saw it on EqD along with Derpy finds the ultimate vehicle. It's a great way to say Happy Holiderps. But….chocolate is so tasty! And thanks for agreeing with me about Celestia. To be honest, I find it kind of hard to like anything troll-related since I suffered a major troll attack on Facebook.
