KYM Pony General IV: Electric Scootaloo

Ah, I see I've been ninja'd with a debate topic here. Now, let me think….

I'm sort of agreeing with Citation and Verbose in this case. Although it can be said with some certainty that Twilight really cemented their friendship, to me it seems unlikely that, in such a small town as Ponyville, they would not really know each other, but it seems plausible that they weren't great friends. I'm tending to think that they, as a group, were casual friends before Twilight.

I don't really have much else to add here. We definitely need a new episode for some new material…

For you, BSOD:

obligatory pageget

And about the data: I don't think RP should be a category, because there's only one poster who does it, and it doesn't necessarily affect any of the other defined posting styles.

@opspe

I checked out that tumblr immediately the moment I saw that. There's all sorts of things going on in there. Not just Starcraft but TF2, Portal, Skyrim…everything

And lots of humanization…sexy humanization

As for the mane 5 (as I will call the group before they met Twi), I'm not sure why one would think Pinkie never got along with anyone before Twi came along.

I figured it was Pinkie who was the one that actually tied them all together before the Elements of Harmony made that unity official. After all Pinkie is the one most determined to create friendships and get along with new faces.

I bet all the ponies knew each other through Pinkie Pie, but the friendship was more an acquaintance back then. Twilights introduction and their common ground of being the bearers of the Elements of Harmony being the factor that really tied them together.

My thoughts on the subject

Fist lets list the mane 6
Twilight
Rarity
Fluttershy
Rainbow Dash
Applejack
Pinkie Pie

I'm going to count Twilight out since we already know how she interacts with all the others.

Rarity + Fluttershy: They have gone to the spa together for a long time from what I can tell. They also both like sewing, even if Rarity didn't know it at first. I like the squee comic where Rarity helps Fluttershy after she drops her ice cream and then there is cute.

Rarity + RD: They probably didn't hang much. They are different, but knew each other enough to knew they had different interests.

Rarity + Applejack: Same as with RD. Maybe a little more hostile since Applejack likes to get down and dirty.

Rarity + Pinkie Pie: were probably acquaintances since they all were. Nothing really going on.

Fluttershy + RD: They've know each other forever. They were probably friends, but didn't do much together.

Fluttershy + Applejack: Were probably acquaintances through RD or just from meeting. Applejack would also help supply food for the critters and Fluttershy would help with advice.

Fluttershy + Pinkie Pie: They might know each other a little better for whatever reason. They seem at ease around each other and I liked the scene where Fluttershy got annoyed at Pinkie and said that she was a year older than her. ((RAMBLE MODE: ACTIVE!!!))

RD + Applejack: Shipping, shipping everywhere. They like to compete and are probably good friends IMO. I like to think they are best friends if we are not talking about love relationships.

RD + Pinkie Pie: Pinkie Pie is a stalker but they are friends for whatever reason; as seen in Griffon the Brush Off. More ship fuel.

Applejack + Pinkie Pie: They might collaborate with food, and they are both earth ponies. Probably know each other through RD.

Overall, Rainbow Dash seems the most connected beforehand of any of them.
Then Twilight came and made them all friends.

AND THAT'S HOW EQUESTRIA WAS MADE!

Anyway…
TL;DR

I aught to go to bed. And then I have to do homework all day tomorrow. loljk, i poni and homework at the same time. So I'll actually be on all day! Adios!

Okay, last edit before bed

I really like her mane!

Someones going to get sent to the moon
I got back from dinner and read the last page and all I got to say is WTF
1st off whoever is downvoting stop that shit. If you have a problem with someone, man the fuck up and say something don't just hide behind a -1. That's just stupid. If I have a problem with someone you will know it. If someone has a problem with me tell me don't be a pussy and hit -1 people. This shit has to stop. I saw people getting downveted when you could have just said to that person "hay not cool bro".
2nd @ Cite. I for one have really tried to comply to everyone here and keep things at a PG level even though some of you would want it at a G rating. Nothing posted is Rule34 ie. X rated (except for Random's pic and since he's a MOD what can ya do). On the rest of this site we post the same kind of stuff and get no reprimand from anyone. @Verbose you too. I have seen you posting elsewhere on KYM so give me a break that this thread is too much for you to handle and you need to take a break. Like the rest of KYM is any different? You guys like to complain about how it is here and say you're going to leave? I don't get it?? As much as I don't want to see any of you go I still hate to hear you bitch and complain how bad things here are. So I for one will not stop you if that's your decision.
This site is after all about internet memes that's why I am here. I am not going to change how and what I post simply because it may warp someones fragile little mind. I post pics from other sites that this meme originated from, are relevant to the conversations at hand, and/or original content made by me. I post with a NSFW tag when needed and even on stuff that really is pretty safe. This is the thread we have and we all have to share it. I don't like to bitch about others and I don't like to hear others bitch. So having said all that let's
Discuss ponies.
And memes, if you must.
Even better: Memes as ponies

I started writing this over 4 hours ago. I have read the last few pages a few times just so I know that I'm not taking things wrong. Tell me if I am. I also went and read through about 20 pages of the very first Pony General thread. Kinda humbling to read again. To be honest the threads haven't changed, we have. So to say things like I hate this thread sometimes and I'm going to leave isn't going to make the thread change. I'm not going to give anyone sympathy for saying things like that either.

Guys, one of my latest questions required photoshop because it was referring to an ask blog that was drawn in that style. Thing is that it was my first time with shop. Do ya think it came out okay?

Looks fine to me but I can't tell from such a small pic. What is it exactly did you do? ie. did you do the whole thing, cut and paste it together, etc.

I did the first panel in flash as I usually do, then for the rest of the answer I drew with Photoshop (with a mouse mind you) in a style similar to Lil' Miss Rarity's blog. It's my first work with Photoshop, I think.

Here's a bigger version.

@Daniel

I'm not getting sick of this thread personally, and I'm definitely not leaving anytime soon, but it does annoy me to see everyone overreacting at the slightest things.

[rant]

I've been noticing a pattern:

>Someone posts something controversial
>They get a response
>Argument gets a bit heated
>Someone starts acting like it's the end of the world, as if they've never seen a flamewar before
>Someone declares they'll be leaving the thread in response (or just posting less)
>Usually, said person returns in a couple of days as if nothing has happened

The most annoying part is that some people have told other posters that they consider them to be friends on the same level as people they know IRL, yet they later declare they'll be leaving permanently due to some silly arguments. You wouldn't do that to your IRL friends, so why do it here? Have you been watching the same show as me? 'Cause I'm pretty sure there hasn't been an episode with the moral 'abandon your friends at the first sign of hostility'. Every time I see an argument going on, I just bring up my thoughts on the matter, ignore it, or if it's getting a bit out-of-hand, I just wait it out. It's really that simple, so I don't understand why others get so upset by it.

That's pretty awesome. You got the lil-miss-rarity art style spot on. As soon as I find your blog, I'm gonna start following.

@Algernon
Yeah so I'm not wrong then.
Funny thing, when reading the old threads I was talking to you about R34 on page 19. That thread was dormant at page 10. it took months to go a few pages now look at these threads. I used to post more text even though I mainly posted pics and Verbose used to post more pics even though he broke the 5,000 text limit.

@Daniel
What hadcore XXX did I post, besides those extremely well drawn penises?

But yeah, I pretty much agree with Algernon and Daniel for the rest.

[rant]

A lot of you here have also been of different parts of the site and different forums of the internet. This forum is not any different. Being a regular poster here won't give you any priveleges, so stop acting like you have them. If you notice the forum isn't going like you want it, clicking that red X on the top right of the screen isn't that much of a problem. This thread is a different part of the forums yes, but that doesn't make it unique.

Honestly, if this thread is that evil, leave, see if I care. If it isn't something for you, I'm seriously wondering why you're still here. Yet all of you are still here, so it does appeal to you in certain ways. So with that you should be prepared with certain subject changes. Not everything goes as you want it, so adapt yourself to it. And if it really goes bad, just leave the thread for a few hours, don't stay here to get even more angry.

Bitching about a certain subject for the hundredth time won't succeed in something you couldn't do the first ninety-nine times. So either adapt yourself, try to change the subject, or just leave for a few hours. You don't own this thread, neither do I, we TOGETHER have to make this thread as enjoyable as possible. Capiche?

Algernon, ever since I found out you are a denizen of the blight on human civilization known as Newcastle (even the Australian Newcastle is a hole) I feel like I can't stand your presence in this thread any longer and I must leave.

I like this thread and where-ever (spelling sucks there i think) it goes. Derails, offtopic, whatever, ill go with the flow.

@ Random – those well drawn penises have ruined my innocence and I can never wipe the horrible memory of them. Pornography such as that is too explicit. Can't have that. Regular porn isnt as explicit as those penises u drew. tsk tsk tsk.

@burning_phoneix

Why is a car talking to me? For that matter, why is it wearing a top hat? I think this internet thing is finally getting to my head…

Wait, you said you were leaving? Oh, k bai

(Just for the record, Newcastle isn't all bad. There's like, one nice street, and a real fancy bridge… that's about it, but that bridge is pretty darn fancy.)

@Daniel

It's always weird going back to those older pages, especially to read your own posts. I think I've somehow gotten less literate over time. It's pretty obvious that this thread worked a lot differently back then. Pretty much everyone posted images, whereas now you're likely to lose karma for doing an image dump. I think it was better in some ways (it seemed a lot more casual), but a whole lot worse in other areas ('this page is now x' got seriously annoying). Also, I remember getting into those R34 arguments. It used to offend me for some reason, now I just think it's funny.

Earlier today, I have been noticing that I have conveniently missing all the flame wars (Which is good). But I'm happy everything shorten it self out.
@Citation.
I'm not leaving! I'm still here just lurking and I post once in a while during the day at least.
Besides, I'm probably a crappy brony anyways….

@Algernon
I saw all the neg Krama you got too. I wish we could fix that but we can't Krama a closed thread. So I give you Krama now.
At first it was just like any other thread. Trolls, trolls everywhere and it wasn't until everyone came here and started posting on the entry page did the thread start picking up steam.

Okay, everyone seems to be ranting so let me throw my rant in

[Rant]
You know what I can't stand? Waking up in the morning and having no milk for my breakfast. My brothers and sisters drink all of that shit up and don't even save any for me. Then of course I have to be the one to go out and buy some more because I'm the one who wants to enjoy his breakfast. What kind of world is this where a man can't enjoy some milk he took the time to buy. Instead the others feast on his hard work and force him to work harder for his enjoyment. If I have to go out and buy one more gallon of milk I'm gonna go postal. The world shall feel the wrath of a man with no milk.
[/Rant]
[/First world problems]

As for this thread. I love this thread, I'm a very lax guy so I go with the flow most of the time. I enjoy everything done on this thread even when some of you manage to weird the hell out of me. ಠ_ಠ

Breaking News

New episode announced. Alcohol is now canon. Eat that, straight edgers.

Looks like we've got another Applejack one. To be honest, this one sounds kinda stupid to me, but since the team have caught me off guard in the past, I'm gonna try to keep an open mind.

This calls for Applejack/TF2 fanart:

Yeah, my rant wasn't meant to be taken seriously. I just thought that a ridiculous rant would lighten up the mood in here. After I had finished my rant I had a feeling someone would say "First world problems" so I decided to get ahead of the game.

Hookay, so it appears that there has been some ranting done while I've been asleep. I agree with most of what's been said, but here are my thoughts on the issue nonetheless. You all know I like to write stuff.

I have noticed that the thread has been slightly more, ah, melodramatic as of late. Algernon's sequence of events is certainly an accurate description of what seems to be happening. I put it down to a lack of new material; we're getting into some of the more controversial stuff now, whereas before we never really needed to. And I agree that the best way to deal with an argument is just to wait it out, or if you're one of those involved, to take a break from posting.

I think the reason why people get upset so much is because they have certain expectations regarding the thread and its content, and when raunchy or otherwise controversial stuff gets posted, they can't handle it. Again, my advice would be just to take a break if you feel angry about something someone has posted. Don't try to argue, because internet arguments are useless, as I'm sure we all know. And about R34. Yes, it's contentious, but we've all presented our arguments ad nauseam, so let's just leave it at that. If you don't like it, leave for a while, it'll go away eventually.

With regards to karma. God how I hate it. I wish it would go die in a hole. It's far too tempting to use it as a weapon, as was evidenced yesterday.

Okay, so that's probably enough of that. I'm late to the chase (as usual) but I hope someone decides to read what I said. On a slightly lighter note, I'll probably finish working on the personality data stuff later today. If anyone actually cares about that besides me.

Also, Flim Flam brothers? Oh, and sorry Algy, in North America, cider refers to a non-alcoholic beverage, unless it's specifically referred to as hard cider. So no legitimization of alcohol.

Yeah as Opspe said, Cider does not have to be alcoholic. Unless it's specifically called Hard Cider.

How to distinguish between Juice and Cider? Well, let Ned Flanders help you!

I like the premise of the episode. I think way back when I predicted a "John Henry" episode for Applejack because it fits so well.

sigh
I'm know I'm not exactly the most calm, smart or… sane… poster here, as I'm sure most of you know by now.
And I'm sorry for that.
I just… don't like things I enjoy getting corrupted via Internet.
It's not just ponies.
And I know about the whole "lol internet" thing, but that still doesn't help matters.
I try to ignore it, I really do.
It's just… blargh, I don't know.
I know I can't stop it, and I don't really try.
Look, I'm sorry.
I really am.

Are we discussing Cartoon Network now? I never really watched cartoons unless it was Transformers based, Spongebob, or Fairly Odd Parents.

And is this the gay flag btw?:
