Quickest way to make one: Everybody submits an OC of themselves and one guy shoops them into a single scene.

It can be an OC you made yourself (either with the Pony Generator or your own hand, anything goes.) or something another user made for you. You can also just pick a background pony to pose as (Berry Punch will most likely want to use Berry Punch) or some other personable character (Phoneix will want to go as the guy in his avatar, whats his name again?)

It's fun to use, but I don't like it when people – myself included – use it for "serious" purposes, a la a big picture job like this, or, say, an avatar (ohai ric).

As for submitting my OC, I'll update that old wet mane from the last thread (it's partly complete now, should be done soon – I'm having tail problems), but I'll try to get to a new image later in the week, once I get back to Vancouver. You guys are pushing me to do this. Not that I'm complaining – I like doing something that doesn't involve data for a change.

So many sadfics I've been reading recently. Final Dreams of a Filly is the saddest next to Bubbles for me.

Has anypony else noticed a rise in the number of sadfics with the "one of the mane six (usually Rarity ;_;) dies" plot device?

I'd like to make point out that I am completely heterosexual.

But I have something of a man crush on Ed Harris. I might roll exclusively with Ed Harris Avatars on KYM. In fact, I might change it right now.

This aught to do for now.

Although this was done using the wet mane template (and that's what the file name is too), it isn't actually supposed to be a wet mane. I just kinda liked the pose, or in other words, I'm too lazy to come up with anything else at the moment.

I'm thinking that if I ever get around to working on this OC again, I might try to do one of those ponies-in-real-life things and place him in a photographic background. I have a bunch of pictures that I think would work pretty well, mostly from when I went camping in the desert over the summer. For example, this:

Of course, that will require a lot of photoshopping, but I think I, by which I mean CS5, can handle it. Anyways, this was just an idea I had in my current sleep-deprived state.

@burning_phoenix: I think Ed Harris is awesome too. That new avatar was an excellent choice.

Seeing as how only one person responded, I'd say the hangover is going badly.

I don't have a hangover because I come from one of those really judgmental hispanic families. Alcohol is fine and dandy if you're old and withering but if you decide to take a drink before they approve of your age then everyone starts yelling about how you're "Wasting your life", and "On a road to ruins", and "Get up off the couch you lazy bum", no wait, that last one is for my uncle. But yeah, jokes aside, you understand why I don't have a hangover.

So, did you all enjoy your partying?

You know guys, if you give me enough time, and description of each person, I could draw the KYM Pony General Family Portrait by hand. In black and white mind you. I won't have time to color everything. Someone else can color it if they feel the need.

It might take me some time with my work traing and all, but if I do it bit by bit, I might be able to complete it at some point. But I'm not sure how to represent each member. Now I know I will use Miku for myself, since she's my avatar, but I'd like to use cartoony human character instead of overwhelming amounts of OC ponies.

I need you to make me a list, like this. Oh, and necessary links to reference pictures for me to use if there's need. Or maybe you want them to have a specific pose, accessory, or something.

BSoD – Crashed PC… Something….

Also, it seems I'm the third person to have a brown and light brown OC.

I'm gone for a few days and the first thing I see is a buncha "Pony Creator" avatar FCs?! For shame! jk

Anyhoof, January is "Map Makin' Month" so very soon I'll be turning off the pony half of my brain to spend the rest of my winter break eating caramel corn, watching Mystery Science Theater, and making a multi-faceted custom campaign for Left 4 Dead 2.

But first I wanna get this page of my comic done (I'm still working on that?). I'm on the home stretch, but now more then ever I wish I had a designated background artist. :/

I don't have a problem with people using the pony creator for fun stuff like an avatar FC, if you're not into drawing that's fine. But being in the top ten most favorited deviations on DeviantArt, it's at best overused, and at worst a tool that devalues other people's hard work and slaps a bad name on the whole concept of an MLP fan character.

I don't like using it because I feel it's restricting, It makes it difficult to make an 'Original' character because they usually all look the same or too ridiculous. I'd much prefer to sit down and think of something and then put it on paper as apposed to thinking of something based on what choices the pony creator gives me.

Oh Celestia help me, I actually want to read a fan fiction. This picture really peaked my interest.

But, to be fair I fully expect it not to live up to my bucked-up standards.

Yeh, that's one reason you can't really take it seriously. Most of the hair styles and whatnot are ripped from other characters or completely unrealistic by the show's standards. So most characters that come out of it look like some discolored amalgamation of Vinyl Scratch and Luna with random bat wings and a goofy out-of-place anime tail.

You simply can't be very creative using pieces of someone else's art stitched together.

FCs have a bad reputation because of the lazy, uncreative people who usually make them. It's the same thing as fan fiction, the potential is there but the talent and dedication isn't.

And dammit Gigatoast, stop correcting me with the "FC" thing. You're literally the only person I know who uses FC in place of OC. There's nothing wrong with using either term.
