But first I need to show you this pixel gif I found!

There's your brohoof for tonight. So cya tomorrow fellas!!!

Not to be a dick, but can we stop with the bed posts and return posts?

It's kinda a pointless post telling everyone here you're going to bed.
We'd notice it eventually if you stopped posting.

Okay, I guess I can stop going through that habit. I didn't know it would annoy anyone.
But sorry and I will stop.

I feel really heart warmed when I see this,

but oddly I feel kind of sad for some weird reason when I see it.

@Pyro's post
Remember, future conquerors, the way to get rid of meddling Lunar princesses is not by exiling them to the moon for a thousand years, but by sending them to get Pizza for a massive party. You get great food AND you don't have to worry about her coming back all pissed.

PopperFett the Mandalore wrote:

Don't play. I already sent you a suggestion about that.

Also, this is the exact response post that Random was talking about. Just follow through with it.

But my annoyance aside, I guess there are a few new users here that don't know the "history" of the thread. It might help to know why Random or I request that certain things not occur here.

When the thread was first made, it was slow. You have no idea. The thread was made on Feb. 11, 2011. The last post on page 1 was made a full month later (er, 28 days. March 11.)

Of course, KYM began to develop its own brony community (myself included) with people who became active or joined the site, because they were interested in the show and KYM's documentation of the brony community. Basically, the posts began to pick up in frequency, but it was still relatively slow.

Found that back there, by the way. I suggest Zelda fans copy this in with Fluttershy, Rarity, or Applejack as your instrument: y w-- r y w-- r yiu t rty w qew

Anyway, the influx of bronies came about as people who posted primarily in the comments section of the article moved from there to the Pony General thread. People were beginning to be annoyed that MLP:FiM was always trending. Always. (In a way, there's so much news going on related to an ongoing show, it was always trending, but most of the comments there had little to do with the spread of the subculture…kinda like it has gotten again.) But Tomberry and others suggested that we post in what was becoming a dead Pony General thread instead of in the comments.

From there, we worked our way into true image sprees.

You posted so many images there, my computer had a hard time keeping up. You might want to be more selective in future, rather than posting everything you find related to the topic. I mean… if that’s ok with you…

(That's where we got that 3 image restriction from.)

Before that, some people (i.e., me) wanted there to be more discussion about the show and the fandom. After starting a now locked thread for pony discussion so the random could keep up here, along with the small flamewar that came with it, people began to discuss the show and the fandom a little more.

Of course, the people who hung around got to know other people here and we became actual friends. So the thread became more of a chat with embedded images more than a thread (complete with greetings and farewells.)

That got the thread going at speed previously unknown on the Internet. But it made other users annoyed that the Pony General thread was moving so fast. Not because we were talking pony, but because often weren't even discussing ponies or posting images in our posts. We were off-topic (one of my pet peeves, and it just annoyed other users.)

Look at this page. The link itself should go to my post on the matter. It's from strings of pages like these that we began to notice that it was less of a thread than it was a brony hangout (which was beginning to annoy people who posted in the thread.)

Anyway, that should give you some background as to why we dislike certain tendencies on the thread.

We've seen some sh!t.

To tell you the truth Verbose, the Okay guy was really meant as more of a joke rather than serious. I know how you feel, which is why I've tried to stop posting good night messages. Sorry for any inconvinience.

And in other, news, my first fic is complete. I'll just have to proofread it and hopefully wait for Gigatoast (thank you so much again Gigatoast) to do some art for me, and then it should be up soon on FIMFiction (name again, We'll_Never_Know)

Now, for a discussion:
I've started to notice some more red-eyed Vinyl art coming out:

I know we've had a discussion on the eye color before, but my question is, do you guys think the brony community will ever get over red-eyed Vinyl and accept canon Magneta-eyed, or do you think it will always be to us (like Derp-eyed Derpy is to us), Vinyl with the red eyes?

Too mainstream

@unknown:
Well despite what edits where made to a single version of a single episode, Derpy will always be Derpy, both in the show and the fandom. Scratch's eyes aren't nearly as big a deal, it's obvious they did it as a shoutout to the fans. They just used Rainbow Dash's default eyes figuring they where red enough to appease us, and you know what? They kinda are.

The brony community will just have to learn to deal with it. You have to remember that bronies are not the intended audience. The show isn't for us.

Just accept Vinyl's eyes as they are.

The intended audience is, little girls, and until they start to care about these minor things, nothing is gonna change. Im sure Hasbro is very reluctant to change anything based on people's opinions since the last "problem".

This is completely off topic (>implying there even was a current topic), but I finally finished reading the behemoth that is Fallout: Equestria today. Yeah… To anyone who isn't interested in that sort of thing (i.e. pretty much everyone), you can stop reading this now.

So I finally figured out why I was so hesitant to read the last few chapters. I got up to chapter 44 months ago (sometime last autumn), and then stopped reading midchapter and never went back to it. I said it was because it had gotten boring, with too much melodrama and not enough storytelling. However, when rereading it, it turned out that this wasn't the case at all, and I'd just been making excuses. I think the real reason I stopped reading it was that I seriously didn't want it to end, and that's just about the best thing you can say about a work of fiction. Now that I've finally finished it, I still wish it hadn't ended, just so I could keep reading it some more!

The ending was utterly brilliant. I won't spoil it in case any of you decide to read it in the near future, but I can guarantee that you won't see the final twist coming. It did finish on a bit of a cliffhanger with a few things unresolved, but that was mostly sorted out in the epilogues (there are two for some reason). When I really think about it, I can't think of a better way the writer could have wrapped everything up.

Towards the end, there were a lot of references to the places the main character had visited throughout the course of the story, and despite not reading it in months, I could still vividly remember my own mental pictures of those places. It was an epic story of over 600,000 words, and yet I could perfectly remember the settings, dialogue and battles that played out in my mind over half a year ago, right down to the finest details. That's how much of an impression it left on me. I can remember looking forward to new FO:E chapters more than I was looking forward to new episodes back at the start of season 2, to the point where I delayed watching some of them so I could get some reading in beforehand. It honestly was that good.

Since I'm totally rambling now, I'll get to the point: Fallout Equestria is absolutely f*cking amazing, with a riveting story, massive attention to detail (omg, that backstory…), characters both lovable and revolting (in a good way), and scenes that are completely packed to the brim with tension. It can go from making you laugh to making you cringe in digust within the space of half a chapter. In one scene where the main character has a total mental breakdown (spoilerz), I was left feeling bad for the rest of the day, because I'd genuinely become attached to her. Attached to a fictional character in a grimdark-crossover MLP fanfic? Damn right I was. It really is that good. I don't even like grimdark or crossover for the most part, but this fic was good enough to be enjoyable regardless. If you like fanfics, please don't be put off by its length or its grimdarky-ness. In the worst case scenario, you'll get a few chapters in, decide you don't like it, and give up. No harm done (though I'd recommend getting about 10 chapters in before judging it properly). In the best case, you'll find an absolute pageturner like I did, and you'll be entertained for days. It's a gem of a fanfic, and in my opinion, one of the most brilliant things produced by this fandom to date.

So, now that's over, I guess I can start that second read I'd been planning on doing…

ADHD version: Yeah, I really, really like that fic. You should try it.

Hay guise.

Since it's saturday, it means that I have a new Touhou – FiM picture ready. This time it's Pinkamena as Flandre Scarlet. If you thought Chrysalis was scary, you obviously haven't met Pinkie with vampirism.

I've already finished the final picture on the Touhou – FiM set, and I'll "publish" it by next saturday like usual. Unless my laptop and modem kill each other before I get a chance that is… I've been having some serious issues with my USB-Modem for the past week, since Windows keeps on randomly unplugging and replugging it on its own. The damn thing is preventing me from playing League of Legends for most time.

On other news, I finally finished the second season of Freakazoid!, and I've gotta admit that it's one of the best cartoons I've ever seen. At least if you like watching the fourth wall being destroyed several times in a single episode.

I think now is also a good chace to start watching the second season of FiM all over again.

edit:

And congrats to Algie for finally finishing Fallout Equestria. Definitely one of the greatest fics I've read. "Mort Takes a Holiday" is still the best though, even if it remains unfinished…

I Decide to be Zerg in starcraft two for now on.
YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?

@Muumi
You never fail to please us! If only I could fine a way for us to repay you for making such brilliant art!

@Algernon
Dude… I am thinking of reading the fanfic now because of all that fanart and all these good things I hear about how good the story is.

IT'S HAPPENING.

When it comes to fandom behavior, I am a goddamn soothsayer.

Ugh, that's a terrible picture. Look at this instead.

Just a normal day of work for Sibsy.

@X-Singular

I totally did, I won't lie.

I was thinking about Cadənce recently, and it occurred to me that she has to have the most cliché girly appearance of any pony in the show. The funny thing is, I am long past minding the fact that she's a light pink pony with hair that looks like this:

I'm not even bothered that her "special talent" is apparently some kind of silly love magic (and boy, does THAT sound wrong). I've actually come to think she's incredibly cute, and Shining Armor is indeed a lucky Stallion to have her. Even though I was mostly attracted to the show through the activity of bronies, it's still interesting to see how the show itself has caused such a significant shift in paradigm for me. I say that because I definitely wouldn't have gone anywhere near things like that before becoming a fan.

Aw, I look so cute in this picture! (Aside from the pouty face. It makes me look mean….)

And Chrysalis is very pleased at how she was drawn too. She couldn't be happier! Too bad she doesn't get internet where she is, or else she would have an account here. Pity, she's generally nice to be around.

Well technically, she just looks like someone swiss cheesed her legs.

Fuck you. You got me.

@Connor

You know people dig that evil seductress kind of thing… I mean just look.

Edit: Also, I agree with Unknown, in the sense that even though a large number of us are now her crazy fans, that doesn't automatically mean we've all got sexually deviant thoughts toward her. Silly generalizations are silly.

Last edited Apr 28, 2012 at 09:46PM EDT

@Connor
Not gonna neg you, because you didn't make it.
But I absoulutely can't stand when someone thinks that just because I like the character and love the design of her, it doesn't mean I will constantly think of screwing her.
I mean, seriously? She's just got that evil suductress thing like Millenial said. Pretty character, but do I dwell on sex? Heck no.

You two remind me of Scanty and Kneesocks in that pic. I approve!

@Errybody
Did anybody catch the last Aquabats episode? I heard it was supposed to have a pony shoutout, but haven't heard anything on it?

Also, look at this silly picture. Look at it and laugh.

Picture/caption from fallout 2 sort-of related (in this case, four legs)

Speaking of decomposing cheeselegs pony, I wanted to draw this since last week and finally got around to it tonight.

She's pretty fun to draw. People may also like her because of that, I guess. Drawing her horn is a bitch though, lol.

I think I mean't to spell "you're". Oh well.

This post is a good moment to repeat a comment I made in the comment section.

A reminder here that we have multiple MLP articles. Not just the main one. I say this because we had a Vinyl Scratch update in the last episode, yet the only new images uploaded to the entry are by myself (with a few exceptions).

The other articles are there for a reason. Not everything should be blindly uploaded to this entry.
- Scratch on the Vinyl Scratch Entry.
- Derpy on the Derpy Hooves Entry.
- Trollestia and co. to the Trollestia / Molestia / Tyrant Celestia Entry.
- Etc.

Please remember that.

And now you say more Vinyl art came out. I checked the page and I noticed 2 new images.

I'm just disappoint at how blindly people just randomly upload everything to the main page.

P.S. Don't worry, this is directed to everyone.

People often think my post is directed to that person when I quote it.

As for your question:

Magenta will make a rise in fanart, but I don't think red wil disappear. People simply got too used to it.

Last edited Apr 29, 2012 at 12:13AM EDT

@Random Man
I know the comment wasn't directed at me, but I call to remember that there are some who think that everything MLP should go on the mainpage (I don't exactly agree with that), and that some of those pages don't get nearly as much views per day as the main MLP one. Therefore, if they want to get noticed, they post on the main MLP page.

Continuation of Chrysallis discussion

I mean, just look at those eyes! Damn beautiful.
And to restate, no, love =/= sex all the time.
For me, an aspiring tactician (on numerous games at least), I always tell myself:

…and Chrysallis would be one I'd be more than willing to share it with.

Hey Unknown! If you're still slummin' around on the thread I suggest you check your PMs, I got somethin' for ya.

Be warned the formatting on KYM's PM system sucks, I put a link for a clearer view on your profile page.

No one actually goes to those pages, so why upload to the separate entry if you can get tons of upvotes when you upload the the most viewed gallery on this site?

No idea who this is, but she instantly became my favourite pony (for a few seconds, anyway).
