Now let's send this to the Hub and make it the theme for Season 4. Give Tay Zonday some royalties and it's no one will ever skip the Intro again.
I saw this brilliant piece of work in the image gallery, not attached to any meme. Anyone know what the context was?

Oh so someone found a video of Randomman's day job.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's a gif from Attack on Titan, an anime/manga I know nothing about other than it has naked giants in it.

That's basically the whole thing in a nutshell. How someone could think on that, I have no idea.
Since I have nothing poni to talk about, anyone watched Pacific Rim?
Also, remeber that guy who made the Chocolate Rain music? He made this:

Yeah, but he has the charm of Random "Banhammer" Man. When it comes to charm charts it goes like this.
Most Interesting Man in the World (sorry Randomman, no one can out interesting the Most Interesting Man in the World….I mean that's his name man!)
RandomMan
Gabe Newell
Robert Downey JR.
Guy who found out how to make Bacon
Kevin Bacon
Canada

Bono
Jimmy Lethal
Daniel Tosh

And I'm not just saying this to suck up to Randomman again so I don't get on the wrong end of the banhammer.

@DeadParrot's Comic:
@Huey, Dewey, and Louie: So would Equestria have a hockey team named the Mighty Ducks of Saddleheim? Only hockey fans are gonna get the joke but whatever.
Starting in Issue 13, the comics will finally acknowledge Our Glorious Purple Alicorn. Reading the EQD comments ("She's a merry zoo because she's got godlike powers!") and the /mlp/ thread takes me back to the Shitstorm that ended all shitstorms. Surprisingly, /mlp/'s taking it better than EQD is.
Oh wow, I was going to make a comment the other day about Twi's mom being the author of Daring Doo. I was going to say the comics aren't 100% canon as the writers were talking about not introducing Twilicorn until they see how Twilicorn is handled in the show. Welp…….Lol!
Besides, it's fucking EQD. Next to Youtube or Tumblr they have the fans that go absolutely coo coo for coco puffs. What do you expect from EQD? Granted, I was hoping /mlp/ would probably implode or something.
@Jimmy. Umm, I think anyone who had consciousness during the 90's would know who the Mighty Ducks are….

Or perhaps just the NHL team?
Nah, that's the least likely one.

Nah, that’s the least likely one.
Uh… no, they're who I was referring to. They were actually owned by Disney for quite a long time, like the Anaheim Angels (or Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, but that name is bullshit) were. The Angels even won the World Series on '02 while owned by Disney. The Ducks didn't win a Stanley Cup until after Disney let go, in 2007.
But am I talking about ponies or hockey? Well, why not both?

All of the above. Who hasn't seen the movie, TV show or heard of the team back in the 90's?

Pegasi spend too much time with their heads in the clouds to achieve aristocracy like Unicorns do.

(Admittedly, the fact that I live 15 minutes from their home rink makes it pretty hard to not know about The Ducks.)
But anyway, who cares about them?
It's all about the Toronto Maple Leaves, right?
Pinkie is lending her uncanny ice skating skills to them.
Good luck, other teams.
@Twilicorn in the comics
This has got to be one of the dumber complaints I've seen in a while.
I mean, really, what the hell did they think was going to happen?
Twilight became an alicorn in the show, so of course she will be one in the comics, too.
Anything else would be like a Doctor Who comic book deciding to draw The Doctor as David Tennant even long after Matt Smith had taken over.
We get it, you liked the old version better, but you can't possibly say you didn't see this coming from a mile away.
Either deal with it and continue to read or bail out, but don't go on and on as if it's some kind of sudden betrayal or something.
Isn't it funny how, even after three years and countless viewings by thousands of people, new things are still being found in old episodes?
Take this shot from RD's story in Cutie Mark Chronicles:
That filly face is the stuff of nightmares…

I would assume there would be high-class Pegasi here and there, considering how in the episode Best Night Ever we see several earth and pegasus ponies among the crowd of unicorns
@Comics: Count me among the people that are not surprised at all by the inclusion of Twilight's alicornhood in the comics. Sure, the comics aren't always considered entirely canon and they have the reasonable option to not include Twilicorn into the series (instead pretending that the entire series takes place before alicornhood) but I actually have gained a little respect for the writers for actually working with the canon that is continually being built up by the show (even when said canon is a seemingly unpopular)
Speaking of comics, I recently read issue #11, and I am extremely happy to see a story arc focused on Shining Armor and Cadence.
I think this comic took a big risk by making a story focused on Cadence and (even more so) Shining Armor because the story had a lot of focus on their character traits and what they were like years (decades? I'm not sure of the timeline in Equestria) before our current spot in the timeline, which is something the show has barely eve scraped the surface on. This issue has made me very aware of how fragile the canon of the comic is compared to the canon of the show. I don't know how the writers of the comic interact with the writers of the show and vice versa, but I feel a move like this makes the comic's canon very vulnerable to the show creating an episode that completely contradicts it. Will there ever be mention of high school existing in Equestria? What about Shining Armor's friends? Will the show ever try and make their own story on how Shiny and Cadence met? Eh, maybe I am focusing too much about that, let's move on to the comic.
First off, I really love that the writers gave Shiny their own spin on what his character is like. There weren't too many things I assumed about Shining Armor and his interests, since there wasn't much to work with from the start, but I was still a little surprised and pleased to see him written as a fantasy/sci-fi geek who loved Dungeons and Dragons. I guess that was the writer's own way of making Shiny a more relatable character to the target demographic of this series, instead of making him like sports or some other thing that the reader most likely wouldn't have an interest in but would have probably been the more obvious choice for him. Also his hopeless romantic side was just too adorable and funny. I love how the whole thing right down to the type of story and the hijinks that ensue feels like it came straight out of an 80s high school romance flick, with it's own little flavor of pony. I did not expect something like that to make me so happy, but it did. Hell, I even found the douchebag captain of the polo team to be an enjoyable character to read (speaking of which, I loved seeing more into Equestrian sports).
First we had Colta-cola, and now we have… Honey Dew!
Also, is nobody going to mention we got to see Vinyl get her cutie mark!?
And Vinyl Dad! HNNNNNNNNNNGH

I could totally see Gilda as a Red Wings fan because it should be pretty obvious she lives in Detroit as a human. But wait, Scoots as a guard? Shouldn't she still be in the AHL or ECHL?

But…..they were complaining that Twilight would end up being too OP and would outshine the Mane 6 while getting her own kingdom. Now they find out she'll be more like Cadence in her Foal Sitting years and they flip their shit? Wow. Can we start calling Bronies something like TNT (as in they know drama)? Was it ever confirmed that Cadance was always an alicorn? And note that Cadance was once a babysitter. She is now the ruler of the Crystal Empire, so even if she was always an alicorn, she went from teen babysitter to the equivalent of a queen over time. Your logic is flawed here if you think Twilight is precluded from going from professional student to the same status (although, I don't think there's any cause for alarm either.)
And wasn't that shitstorm (which I read as being merely people voicing their displeasure in the first few comments of this EqD post.) I think the most outrageous of the comments included simply not reading the comic anymore. Another chunk expressed disappointment but the continued reading of the comic. If you consider that a "shitstorm," then I think I might have to point you to flamewars we've had here on this little site. It would far outshine anything that's been going on at EqD.
Where did you get the idea that EqD was in full "Red Button" mode?
/mlp/?
Besides, this concept is restricted to the comic anyway, right? I think I remember reading that the comic is canon(ish), but I don't think they're close enough to say that the chain of events that occur in the comic affects what occurs in the show.
If Hasbro wants something, then DHX will make it happen.
The comic isn't like the show in that it's not used to sell toys and it's not really for young girls. So the comic could very well "split" from canon at any point and be different from what's in the show (as long as Hasbro approves. I don't think the comic will ever be anything that would endanger the perception of My Little Pony.)
What I'm trying to say here is ponu.
@Tavi's Mane Smelling Like Peaches: That's funny. I always imagined it to smell more like grapes.

I saw Pac Rim 3 times, loved every second of it. Stryker and Cherno were the coolest looking ones out of the main 4 ( Not including Coyote Tango) But my favorite looking Jeager was Tacit Ronin, only showed up for 3-4 seconds.

@Jimmy
I swear, 99% of the time when people post shitstorm reaction gifs, they do it without confirming if there is an actual shitstorm. I mean seriously, you've got Verbs up there explaining how there isn't a shitstorm
Then we get storms of people making shitstorm reactions as a reaction to the reactions instead of an actual shitstorm. Because they see the reaction images first and just assume that a shitstorm precluded them without checking
Resulting in a new shitstorm over literally nothing
I just think that's really funny. Thought I would point it out. (Also I think the official term for this effect is "Hysteria")
On that note, I'm getting curious now what people use to define a shitstorm.
In my view, a shitstorm needs to be a large scale posting of distress from dozens of users. And that feeling of dread needs to sweep through everyone reading it.
Posts that say "I do not like this turn of events" do NOT count as distress. Neither do posts that say "I disagree with your point". Simple disagreements do not a shitstorm make.
Distressed posts sound like "OMFG THIS IS GHEY, I'M BOYCOTTING!", "YOUR OPINION IS WRONG AND STUPID" AND "I thought you guys were my friends! BAWW". That kind of thing. When you start seeing those posts, you come into shitstorm territory
And like I said, this needs to come from numerous different users. Not just one, not just two, but apparent to be a widespread backlash.
So the Derpy incident would definitely count as a shitstorm because we saw those kinds of posts and the butthurt was fandom-wide. Twilicorn, when it was first announced counted as a shitstorm by this definition also. But the impact of Twilicorn in the comic seemed much less so and I can see why Verbs would question it's shitstorm status
@Pacific Rim
Am I the only one who thinks that movie is overrated? It wasn't a bad movie. I'm glad I saw it. But I don't understand why it's getting so much praise. I just don't see it.

I've really liked the comics up to this point. In fact, I think I actually like the comics more than I like the show right now. I'm not surprised that they are going to do Twilicorn. I'm not worried about it.
EDIT:
Yeah, I agree. This isn't a shitstorm.
@BSOD: Indeed you can't say Twicorn on comic was a "shitstorm". It was more like a "fuss".
And the shitstorm gifs? They are just cool, in most of the cases they imply there will be a shitstorm. Well, I haven't followed the comics so I can't say much, all I know is that the last one or so was about Cadence and Shining Armor's first date (or something like that).

I think we should use "fuss" more often – like, for something that's half way between a shitstorm and the normal everyday craziness: a nexus of focused anger that lacks the intensity required to start literally storming shit.
False shitstorm alarm. Everybody back to their quarters.

Well, me personally, I loved it because when I was a little kid, I had a fascination for sic fi and kaiju movies and this was right up my alley. Im sure many that like it feel the same way. Its just a good time at the movies with top notch special effects and visual design. Whats not to love?

@deadparrot
I love seeing new stuff from old episodes! Has the fandom named that creepy filly yet?
Pacific Rim overrated? Really, everywhere I've been I've seen that the movie's audience is either "I think it was a damn good movie" or "THIS IS THE STUPIDEST FUCKING MOVIE EVER! IT MAKES TRANSFORMERS LOOK SMART!". It's…..honestly the first time I've ever heard it being called overrated, I still need to see it though. Was meaning to see it because they got Charlie Day and Ron Pearlman in the movie but I never got around to it.
@Creepy Pone. It's like a picture of cuteness, so many adorable filly pones…..then suddenly creepy face which is still weirdly cute in a very I don't know how to describe it at all, don't judge me! Let's judge Fifth's comment about Jacking off Non-Sexually it's just funny knowing that an animator animated that face and decided that it was perfect. Sometimes these animators are just…..just great. Second Creepy face is legitimately creepy though.
@Bruno, damn I wanted to be the one to post that picture but I just didn't have the right context for it.
Honestly, I haven't seen any of the comic-Twilicorn stuff first hand, but I'm guessing it was from those who are still upset when most are over it by now.
Plus it would make that while introducing a controversial element into the comic would cause some upset, it would be less than when it became canon to begin with,

According to the Crystal Heart book, Cadance became an alicorn just as Twilight did. I don't see how my logic is flawed. Cadance didn't go from a regular pony, to ruler of the Crystal Empire overnight, just as Twilight won't go from Ponyville librarian to Immortal God Empress who'll cast away her plebian friends to reign on high overnight either.
The issue is a False Dichotomy. People see it as either "Twilight changes completely" or "Twilight doesn't change at all", when in reality, the changes Twilight will experience will happen slowly (just as they did with Cadance), perhaps even too slowly for us to notice since it took Cadance at least a decade or so to achieve "Crystal Empress" status.
If you consider that a “shitstorm,” then I think I might have to point you to flamewars we’ve had here on this little site. It would far outshine anything that’s been going on at EqD.
Two separate posts with a combined 1,245 comments, plus the countless /mlp/ threads (at least 700 comments), plus the IDW thread, plus the Derpibooru image comments don't qualify as a shitstorm? I know we were spoiled with the original Twilicorn one, but this would definitely count as one.
Where did you get the idea that EqD was in full “Red Button” mode?
Not sure if reference to fanfiction.net drama or just a general metaphor. For me, whenever an EQD comment section has around 500 comments, that means something's happening. In this case, it was another Twilicorn flare up.

God, S4 needs to get here already, before we have a shitstorm over whether a shitstorm happened (actually, that'd be fun, in a meta-irony sorta way).

I don't know why, but I suddenly want a team in Las Vegas. And Ace can own it, like how Jay-Z part-owns the Nets. How does the Scorpions sound?
@This Whole Fucking Twilicorn Shit Again: I was pretty sure we let this whole thing go six months ago, but oh well. Twilight changing is a slow chemical; she's gotta get used to being a princess. Because let's all be honest, what if she had another Lesson Zero-esque breakdown? As a princess of Equestria?

You know we are running out of things to argue and shitstorm about when we argue about arguing and shitstorming.
Anyway, numbers is one thing. Out of all of that correspondence to the news, what was the average tone? How many comments were genuinely mad and arguing compared to ones that expressed more indifferent emotions?

Well… If we're all running out of things to complain about, then how about we just start by saying what we wish to see in season 4? As in "Why haven't they done this yet?" stuff.
