No really. Why? The show has nothing too much to talk about. I really don't understand you guys in a slightly. It has been launched due to selling toys to young audience, but somehow this fandom popped out.
The characters are kinda interesting, various and cute. It makes pretty easy to comprehend or create relationships. But thats just it. Show is uberly boring, it is not interesting, repetitive. Why it deserves such long conversations, posts exc? Why?
I just wanted to let it go what have been stucked on my chest. I still love you guys, but this is my final thoughts on the show.

@Alex: I dunno, I absolutely despised the whole idea of MLP but now… Well, you see. And I actually have been enjoying the show, as cheesy as it can be (and I'm in a weak patch, apparently). Mostly though, I really feel at home here (and I think I was Brony'd long before I admitted it, though that might be a discussion for another time).

Those seven threads were spent having fun with the ridiculous premise of finding loads to talk and debate about regarding some mediocre kids cartoon about colorful effeminate ponies.

Sure, there's others shows like Gravity Falls and Legend of Korra but we never had 7 threads for those shows because wheres the controversy? Debating what the next Gravity Falls mystery is one thing, but getting a 10 page long discussion going on about how MLP is actually a human apocalyptic future setting where horses rose from our ashes is just plain hilarious.

It's just all having fun with the craziness of the whole situation as well as the show itself, that's what I am getting at.

But also…

I wouldn't say MLP did everything to deserve the amount of fame it got. The show is good, but it wasn't designed to stand out. Not this much, anyway.

However the show got more fame than anything else because of another factor. There's also the fact that MLP is a happy victim of the gods of internet. The Internet looked down upon this hapless toy seller and said unto thee "YOU SHALL BE GREAT" and great it was, by the sheer power of the Internets will and because the Internet just thought it would be freaking hilarious.

Now we have all these conventions, amazing fanart, beautifully crafted plushies, detailed fan videos, extensive headcanon debates, shitloads of porn and a direct influence on the show itself and the entire blogosphere…and we did it all simply because we could.

I would think of a movie title pun, but Hasbro already did that for us.

It's the hypnobeams in episode 1, I guess you missed the scene because it's only for a split second but the second you see those things you're stuck on the ride for life talking about talking and singing magic candy colored ponies learning about friendship for days on end. The hypnotized manchild in me is telling me to tell you to go watch the scene with the hypnobeams (I'll give you a hint, it involves Applejack's introduction scene.) and get your fat ass on the ride with the rest of us.

But the small part of me that hasn't succumbed to the pone is telling me to tell you to RUN! RUN BEFORE THE PONE GET-Wow this thread is already 20% cooler!

If you look closely you will notice that under the surface of all the innocent dialog is demonic subtext and satanic references. And all who watch it read hypnotising subliminal demon messages and a demon in the show will transfer over to anyone watching it for a new host. So hordes of children and adults alike are now demon possessed. Many may be dormant for now…waiting for a command from his infernal majesty

However, the demons that possessed anons will use their trickery to convert well meaning adult males into fruity fedora wearing neckbeards that are forever addicted to a little girls cartoon much to the demons amusement. I have tried to watch it over and over and over.. But it bored me every single time.. My reaction was always similar to Amazing Atheist's but of course less dramatic and less whiny. It just bore me again and again.. Then i gave up.. It doesn't suit me how many times i try. It doesn't have to do with manlinest. Plot is just sterotype written all over. So i don't see it worth for watching.

That's it. Even in "The Last Roundup" she wasn't present for half of it. A true Applejack episode would have her for the focus of the main dialogue. lol.

I think what you have is a classic case of Hype Backlash . You've seen all the fandom content, all the fanart, fanfics, and music--and then you've gone into the show itself, which isn't as good as the fan content it creates. To fix it, all you have to do is go watch every episode of Pokemon (802 as of today) and then go back and watch ponies. I guarantee after seeing Ash & company cross over a rickety wooden bridge for the fortieth time, having Pikachu and Meowth get lost together for the tenth time, and whipping out Pikachu against a ground type for the fifth time--you'll beg for the sweet release that ponies provide.

I love college. Even if it does take three hours to schedule things, and I have to take a shitty Tumblr SJW Sociology class to meet the full time student requirement. Seriously, sociology's been terrible. I thought it could be cool, talking about society and culture and the role they play in defining and shaping us and our language, but instead it's an hour and a half of "muh oppression," "check your privileges," and "the 1%." I now know where all the SJW come from--they're all sociology students. At least the exam study guides count as 20 points of extra credit (on test worth 100), so you almost have to intentionally bomb in order to fail the class.

There's a very good reason the "background pony" meme/joke started. AJ's always been underrepresented.

The big problem with AJ is that they never really gave her character much to do. She's an apple farmer and she's very pro-family. That's it. They've already used up all the plots they really can with the current character they have. If they want to get anything more out of AJ, they're gonna have to start diving deeper into her character and flesh out other aspects of it.

That's why people are relatively apathetic toward new AJ episodes--they're either going to be "APPLESAPPLESAPPLES" ( Bats! ) or "FAMILYFAMILYFAMILY" ( Apple Family Reunion ) as the upcoming AJ episode illustrates. It's like if Twilight's episodes only revolved around studying or Princess Celestia. There's only so much you can do with two plots before people just loose interest in them.

In completely unrelated news, I started writing a fetish clopfic the other day (that I'll probably never finish) and can say that it is an incredibly weird experience, especially when what happens to one of your OCs arouses you.

What I do is that I line condemned threads up in a row of tabs and then scroll through the tabs, clicking that button each time. Soon Season 4 will be over and we'll have to deal with yet another Pony Hiatus. At least this time the season didn't end in February and start in November again, almost a year without pone. At least this Hiatus won't be as bad.

While MLP is no more than a pretty good cartoon, it has dozens, dozens of things to talk about. I'm more interested in answering the question "what's there to keep talking about," rather than "how the hell is there 7 threads of this."

Headcanons, in particular, are the ones I'm mostly interested in when it comes to discussions, and is what I'm primarily referring to with the image. The show provides some really impressive continuity and lore and it's oh so much fun to build up on that. One example of such is how a lot of people have drawn the conclusion that Earth ponies have a lot of leg power and stamina, albeit not really being mentioned in the show. The long posts -- not particularly in this thread -- around this headcanon revolved around providing evidence such as a scene in the show after a race that showed only the pegasi were exhausted.

If not headcanons, then the quality of the show as it runs. A lot of bronies are really observant. I myself got really giddy when I saw the bump in animation from season 2 to season 3, which I assume a non-brony would have entirely missed. Aside from the animation, there's the voice-acting. I can definitely attest to the fact that people here even in this community can hear the differences in the character's voices, such as Sweetie Belle recently loosing her squeak, in another thread some time ago the conversation revolved around people pinpointing the exact time Luna's VA was treading on Rarity's mannerisms and pitch.

Outside the show, another thing that keeps getting brought up in threads is state of the fandom discussions. I particularly remember the first time I posted on this thread. I threw a hissy fit a couple of years ago regarding the emergence of R34 bronies on this site. I was quite upset how the lewd images on the mlp gallery that used to get downvoted to hell have actually begun to get praised and revered. Right now I have come to accept the fact that while mlp is the embodiment of innocence and happiness to me -- something sacred if you will -- I cannot stop the fact that it's "something else" to a large portion of the fanbase.

Aside from that, there's always these tiny things the fandom manages to turn to something huge such as Twily-cane and even background ponies.

These are the things I find people talking about online, not necessarily all. Seriously I can't write them all down there's too many of them.

I'm going to go ahead and claim responsibility for the context of these titles. I'm glad that for better or worse I managed to at least leave two large, round, squishy impacts on this thread In case you didn't catch my drift, that was the impact of the butt.

Even if I accomplish nothing else in life, at least I'll be remembered as that one guy who posted butts a lot. But I'll still hold my vote for a little longer. As much as I would love to have butts immortalized in a new thread name, I'm sure there are some much better options that'll be popping up in the next few days.

Oh, and have some cute.

Cute and butt are like acids and bases. Combined they make water They can cancel each other out.

Uuh, yeah, we've had our "great age ending" at least 5 times already. I don't think the pageviews of the mlp gallery on a relatively small site is much of an indicator of the direction the fandom is going. Obviously, every season leads to more people getting bored and leaving but just like that we have new fans to join the party. Even if the popularity of this show did take a huge dip, calling it the end of an age is a little dramatic to me. Fandoms stick around forever. Besides, I would gladly welcome bronies not being in the spotlight for once. You wanna talk about popularity taking a nosedive? Twitch Plays Pokemon went from consistently having 80k-100k simultaneous viewers (which is crazy popular by twitch standards) to immediately dipping to 30k after the switch to Crystal to now only having about 15k. That's still pretty popular, but having the numbers dip that quickly indicates that TPP will probably keel over and die long before MLP does

Perhaps using KYM's pageviews to prove my point of the fandom's decline wasn't the cleverest thing I've done. Nevertheless, the fandom's popularity has undoubtedly declined significantly as you have said. While it is true I was being unnecessarily dramatic I still think my point stands: the fandom that once reigned the internet (even appearing on Yahoo! once,) has finally settled down and melted into the murky cesspool with its other online communities. Actually, it already did many months ago and I may just be bringing back a long dead topic into the spotlight. I'm afraid I'm just soiling the thread with old news so I will let the cutes, the title voting, and of course the butts carry on without my antiquated disturbances.

If you are going to point out the gallery page views on KYM as an indicator of the fandoms fate, please consider the following:

• The activity on KYM is not the activity of the entire brony fandom
• The uploads to the KYM gallery is not the entirety that the fandom produces
• People who go to KYM have interests other than pone and will browse other content we have here. Even if they are part of the pone fandom
• The KYM pone gallery views hasn't changed. It hasn't dropped below anything. Another subject has simply risen above it
• TPP is just insanely popular, even among Brronies

Yeah, I don't think anyone is doubting that pony is leveling out a bit in popularity, but I don't think it is so much people abandoning the fandom as it is that bronies are slightly more 'normal' now (with normal being used in internet terms).
Guys who like ponies had a big 'What?' factor to it when it first began so it garnered a lot of extra attention, especially from news outlets looking for the next curiosity to point at and occasionally ridicule.
A few years on and we've essentially hit our stride where people aren't all that surprised to see pony avatars all over and we just aren't quite the sideshow we once were.
Those attitudes are not gone by any stretch, but they have mellowed so we simply aren't generating the same buzz we were before.
I can't consider it a wholly good or bad thing either, it's just a step in the natural progression of a fandom.

Anyways… For some reason on some shipping thread on Fimfiction… I wrote way too many words on the topic of Magical Lesbian Spawn.

… Ironically while the OP said they weren't fond of the trope due to something to do with the supposed laugh-ability of a need for a dedicated spell when artificial insemination is a thing; I myself said there's no need for a "spell" in order to make Magical Lesbian Spawn since I think its possible under Earth Pony magic.

Erm… To make the point of Earth Pony magic clear, I reason that if the magical property that allows them to make plants grow magically is basically "fertility", then that's basically the same basic principle as what would be needed to make a magical lesbian child.

(Wait… Have I mentioned this argument before? I'm not sure.)
