Umm….I'd kind of like it if this doesn't turn into a fetish thread please (not talking about the maid ponies, I'm talking about the whole bondage post…..)

Wait, this is a fetish thread now?

Alright, let's do this.

We call that threadjacking and we lock threads for it.

You guys would never prematurely lock the pony thread, because then we'd have to have another Thread Title Election and I don't think Verbose's sanity can handle one so soon.

Alright you guys, BSoD is trying to re-rail the thread. That should not be a signal to derail it more</>. Let's get back on track here.

So is there going to be any shipping IN the family photo? Or are we going to leave the immense sexual tension that pervades this thread remain simmering under the surface, ready to squirt burst forth at a moment's notice?

Let's see who makes the first move…

I'm free in about fifty minutes… and I actually haven't done anything terribly humiliating!

Sigh Mary Sues are bad, discuss come on people try to stay on topic a little bit here!!!

I think We've more than covered that topic… We've gone as far as we can without a Case Study of two comparable cases that are similar, but with two very different results.

…Those two results being "Sue", and "Not Sue".

Anyone got a Case study?

The only thing I can think of is a story of a generic Alicorn that is Inexplicably in Highschool, which essentially guarantees she should be the most popular, and yet for some reason she isn't.

…Designated "Sue".

Vs a Story about a young Heir to The Thrown The place of Celestia's sitting some random ass place other than Equestria, who while okay with the situation of being a Princess in general, is mildly annoyed that her situation of being raised with a private Tutor instead of a public school will curtail her chance at a Social life; so she sneaks out in disguise to meet those that she wouldn't usually meet.

…Designated "Less Sue, but could still count".

Also… We've already heard that story, which in the classics was "The Prince and the Pauper", but in Modern Reversals wound up with "Hannah Montana", which was less enjoyable.

Ooh that coat such a deep marine
If George Lucas tried to film him he just wouldn’t be seen
Got a tight little body that’s shaped like a bean
And he’s tossin that mane like he’s the queen

Uh

He’s too perfect like a Mary Sue
Can’t think of anything that he just can’t do
Not just an equine, he’s a kiwi too
And he was chillin in the Shire

He had a tummy so cute, cute, cute
Oh those hooves, hooves, hooves
Always in the nude, nude, nude
I think I’ll sing it again
He had a tummy so cute, cute, cute
Oh those hooves, hooves, hooves
A blue that’s hot

Let me see that plot
BSoD
That plot plot plot plot plot
Everything about him’s wow
Got me sweatin like a sow
BSoD move your tail now!
That plot plot plot plot plot

I'm sorry. I wasn't aware we were going off topic. After all, this is the Pony thread. We should be able to post anything we want as long as it's Pony related.

That's what I thought as well… no one was threadjacking, only thread jacking-off to maid ponies. Which reminds me…

I'M FREE! FREE!
Although, it wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be… although I actually did clean a lot of my apartment for my roomie. Next time, don't bet over how many fanon identities Luna has…

First off, I'd like to issue a public apology for Ace and Vinyl's antics on the last page. I will do my best to ensure they do not have sexual relations in this thread again.

ANYWAY… poni.

Mod edit: Image constantly breaks. So here's a link. -RM

Okay guys, I think nobody wants to have sexual intercourses with BSOD anymore. That's good, very good.

Have some human poni.
And if it consoles you BSOD, I never had any desire in shipping mods.

@Fifths

You are amazing

@Mark

From the threadjacking page:

Threadjacking is a deliberate attempt at steering a discussion away from the original topic by bringing up another, which may or may not be relevant to the content of original post

Still applies even if the subject material is ponies.

As a general rule of thumb: Even though this thread changes topic regularly, let it happen naturally. Forcing it is bad, mmmmkay? Same for any other thread.

@Bruno

Okay guys, I think nobody wants to have sexual intercourses with BSOD anymore.

I'm not so sure…

Well now that we are finally finished with the Sue discussion, you may resume your maid ponies

(I could be just saying that because it looks like the topic is steering towards BSOD sex again)

@Fifths

(I don't know whether I should applaud, violently vomit, or sing along, but… good job?)

@Bruno
I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that no one wants to sex up BSoD just four posts after a literal love song was written to him.
Seems the longer we go, the more shipping we incur.

…and that's…
Well, that's pretty cool.

@Tulpa Question (since it is the only identifiable topic I can see right now)

Honestly?
I don't get it.
I've gathered from context that the basic idea is to create a character or personality inside your own head that you then interact with as if it is entirely separate from you (like some kind of advanced imaginary friend or something), but that's about as far as I get.
Apparently, at some point, such a personality will take on 'a life of its own' and, according to those who practice it, become an actual sentient being in and of itself… I guess.
No idea what the 'philosophy' behind it is, but I can't help thinking that those who take it as a serious endeavor are quite literally trying to create a mental disorder for themselves (namely Multiple Personality Disorder)… which is weird, right?
It is an entertaining enough concept to play with for silly jokes and comics about having little ponies all around you in everyday life, though.
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
Exhibit C
(Long story short, Pinkie is just a bad influence.)
… and Applejack is no better.

I dunno, I don't know if I'd want a Pony Tulpa. If my track record is any consideration I don't think it would turn out well….you see when I was 6 I had an imaginary friend named James…..He was more like my bully….I got a bunch of my friends to get together to beat him up but James kinda….kinda got killed off just like that. I don't think having a Pinkie Pie in my head is a very good idea, I might start World War 3 or something……..

Also, I'll have you know Deadparrot, I read all those comics in Pinkie Pie's voice…..then Morgan Freeman's voice. Maybe I'll just make myself a Morgan Freeman tulpa….even this might go wrong. I don't see how Tulpas can be a good idea at all. I mean imagine tricking yourself into believing Pinkie Pie is real and is talking to you, you're at McDonald's and then everyone sees you talking to yourself saying "No Pinkie Pie, you can't have a goddamn happy meal!"

Well, I had originally posted a long and evil, mean, ranting thoughtful response to DeadParrot's Tulpa topic… but instead, I'll just say this. By the exhibits you've shown, that doesn't sound like MPD. MPD is actually acting like the character in your head. Only hearing them is schizophrenia, another common condition among sufferers of traumatic experiences. I'm no psychologist (although I am in school to earn a PhD in psychology), but that's pretty much what it sounds like to me.
Examples:
Pinkie Pie acting out as her characters: MPD

Pinkie Pie imagining Gummy to have a voice: Schizophrenia

That's just an example…

“Entertaining?” No, I don’t believe you know how in some cases it’s not caused by creating an “imaginary friend.” Sometimes it’s traumatic experiences, and I take offense that you would call it “entertaining.” If I sound like a dick, then I’m sorry, but you should never call a condition or psychological disorder “entertaining,” especially to those who actually have it.

Pretty much… Not really much one can elaborate on that. A brain that goes off course from normal functioning is not exactly an easy thing to live with. No matter how cool it sounds, or what little good it gives back.

But from what little I know, things the brain does that aren't normal tend to stem from things the brain does normally, just warped to extreme settings. And this "Tulpa" or whatever thing is probably something that sounds a lot like a natural coping mechanism that might count.

Imagine you're having a bad day… You need someone there to reassure you things are going to be alright… but you're alone… So you have to do it yourself… But that sounds hard, so its easier to imagine someone else is doing the comforting, even if its still your own thoughts… And thus disassociation with some aspect of yourself starts… Though not necessarily permanently.

But that's speculation.

On the other hand… I do have to say, sometimes, when I have an internal debate to sort my thoughts out, each of the perspectives in my head sound like they have the voices of different characters so… Plausible?

…Oh Yeah… That too! Almost forgot about that. Though one begins to wonder if its possible for the two to be related… Or for Schizophrenia to develop into MPD (Actually called DID now) if one decides to start acting like/as the voices in their head.

Meh… This doesn't sound Pony Related anymore… Have some Pony/Dragon shipping…

(Why does this image look so cute? I Wonder what the Kids would look like.)

Oh yeah, ponies (I think)

For the briefest second, I read that Image Backwards…

And so it came across to me as Trixie complaining to Luna (Who is Her mother) about how her dream of becoming a star to make her proud has failed.

… And then I read the Rest…

Yes… My Brain works backwards… Don't ask me why. I don't know.

Also, have some Sims poni.

Seeing as how randomness has decided to take over the thread, I'm going to fail to jump start a topic. And I'll do it be self-plagiarizing one of my blog posts.

Recently, I finally got the Expanded Universe material.

I greedily ate them up. The comic was pretty good. Not nearly as [Grimdark] as I had been lead to believe (Chrysalis didn't even mind rape the CMC!) but it was still good. Plenty of references. The Crystal Heart novel thing was also really good. You could tell it was written for kids, but it definately had some season 4 vibes coming from it. The sea pony book sucked. It's art was weird, and the Cosmic Council wasn't even mentioned.

First, what are your thoughts on the EU so far, and second, how "canon" do you consider them?

For me, I take the "it's canon unless contradicted by the show" approach.

@RandomMan: Mods are asleep? Time to… Wait a second

@xTSGx:

Chrysalis didn’t even mind rape the CMC!

I… I kinda want to know more about this… REALLY. Also, did you expected the sea-pony comic to not suck?

I think I'm the only one who never read the comics nor have the desire to read them.

For any universe, the expanded Universe Materials get treated by me Thus:

"It happened, but this is the journal of said events written by a drunk man and translated into french and back before having the artwork embellished by a master Artisan from the Scottish Highlands."

In other-words… Canon, but terribly inaccurate.

So Basically, in the case of the sparkling sea whatever, I treat Sea-Ponies as existing, but they probably don't look like that. They Probably look like well… ponies with an extended body instead of legs or a more fluffy tail. And the extended Body looks somewhat like some kind of sea serpent, with fins down the length and back, and larger ones at the end. And apart from that, the only major detail is a discrete set of gills on the neck. And maybe some shark-like teeth in the case of certain sub-species.

Arr, that be what I reckon matey!

I have a serious question. Is there going to be a synctube or whatever tonight? I know you guys usually do it on Saturday nights and I always miss out but I'm free tonight. So are we doing this?

Okay… But that don't answer the question of Together Tube, which is its replacement…

In any case… If we're going to do this… I may need Coffee… I'm not exactly in Synch with anyone elses Sleep Cycle…

…Anywhere…

It's 9AM here… Been awake all night… No Idea what time it is where you guys are, or what time you'd be hosting it…

Just… give me a heads up…

Disty wrote:

Well… From The looks of it… Safe answer?

…Looking like a no…

I needed some sleep anyways… Catch you all tomorrow I guess…Maybe we'll have something organized for a Live-stream by then.

So here's a bit of a weird topic, but have any of you ever wanted to jack off to a pony non-sexually? Here, let me explain what I mean by that.

This picture is incredibly cute. It makes me smile like a dope and I love looking at it. I'm not sexually attracted to this picture (unlike someparrot I could name), but it does awaken feelings not completely unsimilar to sexual attraction. This isn't a feeling of purely contented aesthetic contemplation. I don't look at the adorable Scootaloo and say to myself "That was nice, I'm going to go do something else now." I see it and say "This is nice and I am so frustrated that I can't hug the shit out of her right now." Similar to the way when I look at a sexy woman and say "This is nice and I am so frustrated that I can't so pleased that I am going to f*ck the shit out of her."

The feelings I sometimes have when looking at cute ponies really is really a desire to possess, a desire to hold. It's a feeling with a certain tension that seems to imply further action. Does anyone ever else experience that when looking at a cute pone?

Edit: And then of course there's BSoD who I want to jack off to both sexually and non-sexually. I'm going to go jack off to BSoD a bit.

@Mark below

Well let me just emphasize again that I don't want to actually jack off to them, it just feels like I want to do…something to them. The main idea is the verb 'to do.'

Also, the fuck is up with Dash's hooves in that picture? The angles are all weird.

@ Fifths

Jack off? Uh…

Of course I've seen adorable photos of ponies like Lyra, Fluttershy, and Applebloom, and I've wanted to hug them. And of course I've been irritated that I could not break my laptop's screen and hug them back. But to clop to those photos? No, I have never gotten that feeling. That's what the socks, maids, nurses, and other NSFW images are for…

Discounting today's oddly sexualized tone toward MLP younger characters, what exactly did you call this?
<div class=spoiler title="Comic Spoiler/Mind Rape?">

While maybe not classifying itself as full on 'mindrape,' Chrysalis definitely attempted to mentally scar them.
(The fact that the CMCs and their shenanigans essentially ended up breaking Chrysalis was a very nice touch, though!)

To your question, I'm on the same boat as you: 'Basically canon until something contradicts.'
I haven't read either of the other books, though I kind of know the gist of the Crystal Heart book, so I can't speak to what they introduce to the universe, however.
The comic series is awesome and I would highly encourage anyone here to pick them up, especially the main arcs.
(A couple of the minis have been a little lackluster, but the Rarity one was great as it was written and drawn by the same team who did the Chrysalis arc.)
