Clearly you had plenty of time to get the get.

Makes me wish my dominant hand wasn't as steady as a vibrator. I WAS going to make a Michael J. Fox joke but I have way too much respect for that man to poke fun at his disease. God I wish my drawing skills grew with me past the 5th grade, but sadly just like my height it stayed the same since good ol' grade number 5.

@New Pony maker, OMG REALLY?! It's sad, this guy probably put so much time and effort into making something that people use to make half assed OC's……..Like the new Killgore the Alicorn.

@Kewl

You don't need a steady hand, just tone down the sensitivity on your mouse. When I'm vectoring I reduce my mouse DPI from 1600 to 400. Makes more much more careful lines.

(Of course I have a gaming mouse with DPI controls on the mouse itself but you can also just reduce mouse sensitivity in your Windows settings)

@New pony creator

The ride never ends…

CHALLENGE: Try and make Blue Screen with it and you win a cookie

Oh. My. God. That is one of the worst images I’ve ever seen. Whoever made it must be an idiot. Seriously, was he in a hurry when he made it? First of all, why does the ‘W’ in ‘TWI’ look so weird? Second, what is Twilight even looking at? She’s certainly not interested in what John McClane and son are looking at. Don’t tell me he didn’t know how to flip an image around. Dumbass.

I wonder how many of you knew I was the one who made this image.
My photoshop skills are only as good as Microsoft Paint will let me.

@Blue Screen Pony Creator
Here's what I had at first…

…and then I made a few changes.

I guess my photoshop skills got better over time.

@Disturbed

I see you dyed my hair.

@Fifths

That's a very telling tale. Look at how Blue was before he started drugs and then compare it to the life crippling changes afterwarsd. He lost his cutie mark so the drugs have clearly cost him his job. The missing white text shows how his identity and self respect disappeared with it as he dwindled into being another statistic

Obviously he's lost hair to stress and let the rest grow out, no longer bearing the initiative to upkeep himself. His mood and expression darkened with a constant unfriendly and exhausted demeanor.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug…

We should just ignore them, really. It's fun to mock them on forums and stuff, but if we rage against them seriously, we're just feeding the flames.

@Pony Creator 3.0: It's not bad, but they removed some options and the menus are kinda strange. That, and the pose looks different to me – a different build of the pony, you know? I'll try it out and post what I can do.

On an unrelated note, we metal pone now.

I don't even get why what Red Eye has to say about bronies is even a big deal to begin with? I mean, to my understanding Red Eye is a news satire show not too dissimilar from The Daily Show or The Colbert Report. Granted, the latter two are way better, but getting mad when someone on Red Eye says being a brony is a little better than being a terrorist is like getting mad at Colbert making a similar crack.

You make a good point. (Fun note: I'm from the same city as Stephen Colbert.)

I'm sorry to hear that.

You know what rhymes with Backy?

Rape.

Ah yes, but only if you speak with the accent from South Buttottica.
But not North Buttottica. The ponies there are strange, and unbuttlike. And they drive on the other side of the road.

Well… It's been a while, but it looks like I need to call on you guys to name a pony since I'm having trouble getting suggestions on Tumblr… Or you can ignore this post… Either way. It's not like you're inconvenienced by a spoiler tagged post.

From a Homestuck Crossover.
Is known as a "Prince of Void", which translates reasonably well to "Destroyer of Darkness".
Biologically Female but suspected to have gender issues.

Whether you're well versed in Homestuck or not, the title "Prince" is only supposed to be given to males, however much like any rule, it can be broken. Especially when another has a role that specifically represents the ideal of breaking all the rules or letting others break them. And confusing the issue is obviously the fact the character may identify as at least partially male.

Supposed to be androgenous
Has some connection to another OC some of you might remember (Blue Shift).
Supposed to symbolically represent the "Chariot Arcana" of the Tarot.
Cutie mark shown is supposed to look like a royal symbol with a blade like extension for one part.
Is a Bat Pony

I'd love to try and distract from my own little plea but it looks like a slow news day.

@Lunar Protege
When in doubt, go with the tried and true (and really cliche) [color] [mineral/rock/gem] combination (Blue Diamond, Silver Crystal, Red Amethyst, etc.).

@TSG

>Implying I would handle thread naming the same way Verbose did.

I'm nowhere near his level of melancholy, sophistication and political correctness. There will be no elections of elections like last time. You will choose a title the same way we always have since Pony General 3: By just making up your damn minds.

If you don't have one by page 199 I'll automatically name the thread "Pony General VIII – We'll think of a title later."

@Lunar

When I saw the cutie mark, I started thinking about navigation and "Southern Cross" jumped straight into my head. (Suppose that would be 'South' for short)

But the cutie mark is more of a crucifix or a dagger so maybe that won't fit so well. But then again I can't think of any kind of name that fits "royal, sharp" without sounding kinda cheesy or something you would expect from a terrible Red/Black ponycreator OC. So I guess you may as well go for a name that isn't totally relevant to itself.

Another thing is that when you said she represents "Chariot Arcana", I kinda started rolling that around my head too. And I wondered if "Arcana" might not be a terrible name either.

"Royal Arcana" might work now that you mention it. It sounds regal and strong, it rolls off the tongue well enough, and has just a touch of mysticism.

I like this.

Last edited Sep 12, 2013 at 06:48AM EDT

I don't like 'Royal'. That's kinda like naming your kid "Better-than-you" or "twelve inches"

Also wouldn't it sound redundant? (Despite the fact that she's won't be a real Prince, just being a Prince class alone makes the name waaaay too obvious.)

Just Arcana sounds nice by itself.

@BSOD: Thought it might've been, though it looks different to the one I see on the game now.

@Caramel:

@Lunar: I don't really have any suggestions, though I must say it sounds a tad overpowered or possibly Mary Sue-ish. Maybe that's not actually an issue at all (don't know Homestuck) but it might be worth looking out for, since some people can get rather psychotic about that kind of thing.

@Crash

Maybe they changed it. I was sure that's where it came from

To give a bit of context: In Homestuck, virtually all characters are overpowered because that's how it goes. Each character must learn superpowers that are determined by inheriting one of a set of given 'Classes' like "Prince of Void" as you saw above which happens to be a destructive class. Though these character classes aren't necessarily indicative of the characters nature. EG: Someone with a destroyer class might not always be a destructive person or even good at destroying.

Just a question: do you actually have any male characters?

Blue Screen (of Death) wrote:

Um…

Define "male"

:T

In other words, no, not any are legitimately biologically male… That I know of.

(I imagine this kinda thing would probably fit within a certain character's sense of humor though… Which is to say the one to blame for these kind of things.)

…Why do I suddenly feel guilty?… Like someone busted me for making a bad joke and didn't even get to make the punchline and the joke is wasted because everyone saw it coming… Making the entire set up wasted.

@Lunar

Define “male”

These things.

With the beans and franks.

So the only 'male' characters in your work are females that identify as males? Not saying that's bad, I was just curious.

I agree. Royal sounds like a really obnoxious rich person. Like, Blueblood-level obnoxious. But yeah, Arcana sounds cool.

@Jimmy Lethal
How about instead of continuous attempts at Pony of the Hour themes, we discuss things?

Equestria Daily went through a much needed overhaul.

Click for direct article link.

Knighty from FiMFiction did it, and it looks absolutely gorgeous to me. The drop down menus are particularly nice – you can go to something instantly instead of having to navigate through several pages of tags.

Thoughts?

Define “male”

Penis = male, vagina = female, both = ALL REAL.

Now, EqD Users can experience the same jimmies that Fimfiction Users did eight months ago. It's like Knighty can't resist a good jimmy rustling when the opportunity arises.

@People discussing the eventual voting

@EQD's New Clothes
That came out of nowhere, but it seems pretty nice.
You can easily see the visual similarities to FiMFiction since it was designed by the same guy, but it's really the organization and sorting features that look to be the best part.
Quicker searching and even the ability to block or hide certain tags should make EQD a much friendlier site for people wishing to look back through its archives.
(And I admit I played with the cool layered parallaxing header bar for a few minutes!)

@Caramel
I don't really see what needs fixing honestly.
If you don't touch any of the settings, everything looks like it should function essentially identically to the old site.
Only real difference is aesthetic with the darker background, but meh.
No biggie.

It's comic time once again with Princess Celestia herself leading this outing!

This is essentially the very first official story of any kind tht attempts to really focus on Celestia, her character, her motivations, and her emotions…
… and it's awesome!
I think it does a great job of capturing the essence of canon Celestia and is absolutely worth the read!
Plus, it's filled with all the background sight gags and references we've come to expect from IDW (including a 'little surprise')!
GET TO IT!

<div class=spoiler title="Spoilery Stuff">

Just to start out with the last page, if the implications weren't clear enough:

So, our first foray into (semi)canon 'immortality blues,' eh?
I like it!
I feel that it was handled quite well; not so heavy-handed that it felt forced, but clearly there and meant to be felt.
It's one of those outwardly 'happy' endings that still has some twinge of sadness to it and is exactly the kind of story I feel that Celestia must have lived through so many times.

And another interesting bit:

Subtle, but nice to see Hasbro allowing exploration of things outside the 'saccharine sweet fantasy land where nothing can go wrong' and making Equestria feel a little more 'human.'
It carries a definite shift in tone sometimes, but I think the mix is good.

And the references!
Oh, the references!
I won't post images since I would be here forever), but keep your eyes out for members of the Harry Potter cast, Gordon Ramsey, Napoleon Dynamite, Phoenix Wright, Huey, Dewy, Louie, another incarnation of The Doctor, and of course, everyone's favorite pigmently-challenged flying Pinkie, Surprise!

As long as I get to be Spengler.

@Celestia Comic: How much do you wanna bet that the writers were too scared of 'Ruining too many headcanons' that instead of going into Celestia's history they just make a romp comic where it's just Celestia just having random fun for 20 pages? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see an official comic where Celestia gets a little stir crazy and just lets loose and goes on a fun spree but it just seems a little weird to see a Celestia themed comic before a Celestia themed episode (like how the writers of the comic said they wouldn't add Twilicorn until they see how she's handled in season 4 considering we saw Twilicorn for a whole 5 minutes in Season 3.)

So, Taking all bets for "Celestia's Day off!"

On a somewhat more sincere note, are humanized Ponies a fetish for you or something? Not to be insulting but it's clear you are "interested" in the idea and you bring it up a lot so I'm just wondering.

Anyway, Ghostbusters?
