We've already had a "where are you from" thread, and a couple "what kind of music do you like" threads.

This time around, post your favorite bands/artists from your hometown.

city: Minneapolis
artist: Har Mar Superstar

City: New York (They're from upstate though)
Band: Gandalf Murphy and the Slambovian Circus of Dreams
This band is also really local for me because of the kind of thing in this video. They play an awesome dance set at this festival I go to, and they've also come to embody the festival.

City: Brookyln (Though they're based in Atlanta now, they started here)
Band: Girlyman

Also: MGMT is from here too

City: Brooklyn
Band: MGMT

I also get bonus points for being at all three of those live shows I posted ;)

Oh, we're allowed to supply more than one band? Well, here are a few others I like:

City: Winnipeg

Band: The Guess Who

Band: Harlequin

I also have a lot of favorite bands from my home country but since you won't understand most of their songs anyways, I'll just list some of them down. You can check them out if your curious or just plain bored:

- Parokya ni Edgar
- Bamboo
- Eraserheads
- Itchyworms
- Kamikazee
- Chicosci
- Siakol
- Wolfgang
- Juan Dela Cruz Band

… and here's a video of an instrumental song performed by a famous performer named Wally Gonzales just to hook you guys a little (couldn't find a better video, sorry):

City: San Francisco
Artist: Unwoman

She's somewhat electronica, somewhat classical cellist/synth/piano/vocalist. And in honor of it being November 5th, I will post the home video she did covering the song from V For Vendetta.
