There is no reason to argue about the validity of religions. There is no completely solid evidence pointing towards the existence or nonexistence of deities; thus, no truly logical argument can be formed and the argument cannot be ended in any way beyond someone rage quitting.

It's like arguing about whether Superman would beat Goku in a fight. It's inherently illogical to argue about it no matter who you think would win, since the two have never even encountered one another. There is no solid logical foundation that any argument can be made on, and all that will result from any argument about the battle is an assload of salt.

Also, on a similar note, "burden of proof" is just bullshit used to pass the responsibility of proving a point onto someone else. It's ultimately just a smugger way of forfeiting an argument. The burden of proof falls on anyone who is making any argument. Take, for example, a court case. Both the defense and the prosecution are assigned to prove the defendant's innocence or guilt. If burden of proof fell fully on one side or the other, then there would only be a prosecution or a defense, not both.

Well that's just false. In the US you are actually not required to prove your innocence. It is up to the prosecution to prove your guilt. The defense exists simply to stop the prosecution from proving you guilty. That's where the phrase "innocent until proven guilty" comes from. The burden of proof rests with the person making the positive claim. The reason this is such a well established rule in logic is because of how hard it is to prove a negative. If I claim that there is a teapot orbiting the sun between the orbits of Jupiter and Saturn, it would be unreasonable to say that you can't dismiss my claim until you've searched the entirety of that area and proven that it isn't there. The burden rests with me to prove that there is a teapot there in order for my claim to be taken seriously.

I think I know the perfect way to describe Homestuck. Homestuck is the DragonBall Z of webcomics. How it's incredibly long, to the point of being unneededly stretched out, and the inconsistent pacing (certain parts are too slow, while others are incredibly fast). But it also has memorable characters, and has some cool moments in it.

I didn't say burden of proof didn't exist, just that it falls on both sides to provide proof of their arguments, or at least solid evidence. Providing proof of the negative is difficult, but providing compelling evidence towards the negative is entirely possible. After all, how many court cases do you see where the defense does absolutely nothing? They need to provide evidence for their claims as well; as such, they also shoulder the burden of proof.

In the case of the teapot, instead of searching all of space for it, I could argue that virtually all manmade objects sent into space are known quantities because of the difficulties inherent in escaping the atmosphere, and none of those known quantities is a teapot. This doesn't necessarily disprove the teapot argument, but it is very solid evidence against it.

Did DragonBall Z have a completely boring and shitty last third that culminated in an absolute joke of an ending?

(Seriously asking this since I never watched DragonBall Z)

Gonna be honest, haven't really read the final act yet. I stopped reading around the end of Act 6 (when it's revealed that Vriskas alive).
.
But, the final two seasons of DBZ are probably my least favorite. The second to last season is Gohan going to high school and becoming an incredibly lame super hero, Goku training in the afterlife, and showing the other Z Fighters training for a tournament that doesn't happen until three-fourths of the way through the season. The final season is them fighting Buu (who's this pink creature who is pretty much invincible), but it's so stretched out that it's almost painful to sit through.
.
Also, DBZ did have a lackluster ending (in my opinion anyway). The third to last episode is Goku killing Kid Buu with a spirit bomb, which is alright. I forget what the second to last episode is like, but I think it was showing what happened to the Z team after Goku beat Kid Buu. The absolute final episode is basically the gang several years after Kid Buu is killed, with Goku fighting in a tournament with Mr. Satan and Good Buu. But then, the episode introduces two new characters to us, Pan and Uub. These characters get barely any screen time, but are only there to set up the story of DragonBall GT.

The anime or the manga
I only watched the anime, looked it up and the manga was different as fuck
there was like a whole other arc not included, as well as just changing parts of the story altogether

I hate it when people immediately hate/judge something (like a comic or video game) just because it includes aspects of hipster culture.

That's definitely not an unpopular opinion (assuming you're talking about the anime ending).

Alright, so this has been bothering me for a long, long time now, but I feel the need to say it.

Now, I know this just might just be me pushing my homonormative agenda (again), but I really need to get this off my chest.
ahem
I feel as though homophobia is a one-sided thing.
What I mean by that is, that homophobia only affects male/male couples, and it's always those couples who are going to get stigmatized by other people purely because they're a male couple. In addition to that previous statement, that also means that almost literally nobody stigmatizes lesbians for whatever reason. My personal opinion is because of the constant gender double-standard for women, since really stigmatizing women at all nowadays just makes you a generally bad person.
Like, for example, a female/female couple would be seen as cute, prideful, and a strong sense of social evolution, while a male/male couple would be seen as heretical, disgusting, etc. And that idea is pretty apparent in a lot of places, and not just the constant downvoting of something remotely gay.

But I think that's all I have to say, for now. I would've expanded on this idea later as a separate thread, but I don't know. It's just something that's been itching my brain for a long time.

-The worst ep of Gravity Falls' Season 2 is neither The Love God, nor Little Gift Shop of Horrors to me. No, my least favorite episode from that season is Weirdmageddon 2: Escape from Mabelland.

Reasons:
-Gee, a saccharine land that secretly turns out to be demonic. I've NEVER seen that one before.
-For supposed "most devious trap", Dipper and crew sure broke out easily.
-Mabel's behavior.
-Throwing out Soos' character development
-Bill himself barely getting any screen-time.

Darren Wilson got away with 2nd degree murder and grand juries only serve to cover for corrupted cops and their heinous crimes.

We're suppose to believe that Michael Brown, a 6'4" 300+ Ib teenager, inexplicably attacked Darren Wilson, yet somehow Wilson comes away with no real injuries to speak of.

Then, we're suppose to believe that despite fleeing for his life and getting shot multiple times by Darren Wilson, which is against police protocol and is very much illegal, that Michael Brown inexplicably stopped, taunted Darren Wilson, and charged Wilson 'head first' from 35 feet away before getting shot dead despite virtually every eyewitness on the scene saying he was surrendering.

Then, we're suppose to believe that all these eyewitness accounts are 'unreliable' but the account of a bipolar racist who wasn't even at the scene is reliable enough to make it to the grand jury to get Darren Wilson off.

Instead of charging Darren Wilson and make him face trial for his actions, which would have defused much of the tension in Ferguson, they gave him a paid vacation and let him go, thus setting Ferguson alight.

I hate it when people get mad if I don't "respect their pronouns" when I like didn't even know they were like gender fluid or something. Like I have no problem with respecting somebodies pronouns but sometimes ill like accidentally use the wrong one or i didn't know somebody preferred other pronouns, so ill just kind of assume and people get so pissed off. Like you cant just expect people to automatically know your pronouns. If i accidentally call you her and you wanna be called him or them or whatever, don't get mad, just simply ask me to call you that and ill respect it.

Well, I personally believe that what you have between your legs is what should determine what you outta be called of the two genders, preferences or no preferences. Only exception I can really get behind is going through a surgery to become transsexual. Not that I'd go out of my way to shit on anyone on the internet just for that alone.

I'm starting to get annoyed by all the people complaining about the Powerpuff Girls reboot. The show isn't made for you guys, it's made for 10-13 year olds with far lower standards for what makes something good than you guys do. If the target audience enjoys the show then it did its job well.

If something's not enjoyable outside its target audience, something is seriously wrong with it. "The show isn't made for you" isn't an excuse, ever.

And in this particular case, I hesitate to say it's solely for 10-13 year olds, since it frequently makes reference to ancient memes that would have only been around when today's 10 year olds were 3.

It totally is a valid criticism. I'm not going to go to a hip-hop concert and criticize it because I don't like hip-hop. Hip-hop isn't for me and therefore I'm in no position to criticize it. To use a closer example, would you criticize the Dora the Explorer for lacking depth and plot? Probably not, because you realize that you aren't the intended audience. Does that make it a bad show? No, because the intended audience really enjoys it and it gets its goal accomplished. Obviously that's an extreme example but if the logic applies to 3 year olds then why shouldn't it apply to 12 year olds as well?

As for your second argument, cartoons have been doing that since they were invented. Just look at all the jokes in shows like Ren and Stimpy that would fly right over the heads of children. Just because it has material that most kids wouldn't get doesn't mean it isn't targeted at kids (and don't try to tell me that Ren and Stimpy was targeted at adults more than it was targeted at kids).

-Anytime someone uses autism or cancer in their argument regarding a distaste for something, I automatically stop taking them seriously. If you can't articulate your points without throwing around words you aren't using in the correct context just to point out how awful something is, then your argument wasn't even worth considering to begin with.

-People who comment "REPOST!!!111" on images on any site need to find a hobby. If it was reposted minutes or hours between the original, then it's other users trying to get in on the popularity. But months after? Who honestly gives a shit?

-As much as Nintendo has reused the same Lylat Wars with Star Fox and haven't really established a true lore, I'm excited to play Star Fox Zero since its gameplay looks solid.

-I don't understand the appeal with GilvaSunner's high quality rips. They're amusing but the joke gets old when more users keep displaying similar injokes over and over. I do appreciate his albums which aren't widely as recognized as his channel.

-There are many ways to play Smash. However you see fit to enjoy the game is up to you. Arguing which way is more valid than the other is a complete waste of time that makes each party look foolish for discrediting one another. Those who understand that it allows for multiple methods of play are alright.

-I think Teen Titans Go is more tolerable than the new PPG since it understands its genre. Like many, I hated how TTG didn't continue where the old series left off but I appreciate how it understands that it's geared for comedy. The new PPG, however, tries to do too much yet falls flat. Its attempt at reintroducing the girls to the villain-of-the-week formula along with forced humor makes it very unbalanced.

I find that peoples keep thinking "children now just play mobile phone" to be just plain stupid. Children love having fun, mobile phone is getting way common than before, which is why most children play with mobile phone. But most children would still go to playground and play with toys.

I hate gamefaqs. I posted on a yugioh board "I have the gba game on my phone and my deck is 70 cards" literally nothing else and my post was deleted for "illegal activities". Then I made a thread on the moderator's board asking why people can talk about emulators, but not finding games on their phone's store and my thread was deleted without even explaining why. Like how rude is that? Not to mention there are threads where people talk about reading manga from scans. How is playing GBA games on your phone worse than that? I can't be the only one here that has pokemon emerald on their phone?

Either you're new to gamefaqs or you just plain forgot, but ANY mention of emulation, roms or anything similar to that, results in getting your post moderated. Don't bother trying to dispute it, the gamefaqs mods are very dumb about emulation regardless of how you explain it to them. You can troll, post false information, make offensive statements no problem, but heavens forbid you mention the word emulation and you'll either get a suspension or have your posts deleted.

I was new to gamefaqs. But then why is this ok? the whole thread is about emulators . Anyway thanks for that explanation, I feel better because I was worried I did something way out there.

As I said earlier, the mods there are very dumb about it and you are expecting them to be reasonable when they stubbornly refuse to educate themselves. But no worries, you only get banned if you keep doing it. As for that thread you linked, the mods are lazy (no joke) and they tend to look for anyone mentioning emulation mainly on the PC boards since it's commonly mentioned there.

Plus that thread is on the original xbox boards at the time when the Xbox 360 was released long ago. The mods don't really tend to look into the boards of old consoles which is why that thread got away with it. You can actually get away with quite a lot of stuff if you post in the old boards that have minimal activity but it won't work if you post boards that are completely deserted.

Honestly, if you spend enough time on gamefaqs it's hilarious with amount of crap people do and get away with coughvitaboardcough. It makes you wonder if the mods actually do anything meaningful.

Unpopular Opinions (Pokemon edition)
- Barbaracle is one of my favourite Pokemon. Because that thing looks ridiculously awesome.
- I'm annoyed at the heavy advertisement for both Mega Mewtwo Y and Mega Charizard X. For the former, I didn't liked Mega Mewtwo Y since its design didn't fit Mewtwo all that much. For the latter, I feel Mega Charizard Y didn't get that much attention, which I preferred more.
- Bug-type needs more love.
- I found Generation 3 to be rather average. I do like the Pokemon design, I do like the mechanics that the Generation 3 introduced (double battles included), I do like the huge graphical improvement from Generation 2… but that's about it.
- I actually enjoyed Pokemon Shuffle despite its flaw.
- By contrast, I hated Pokemon Picross because the microtransaction system is just awful; even worse the Pokemon Shuffle.

For example, it's been years and the hype for it is absolutely dead, but people are still shitting on Frozen to this day.

UNPOPULAR OPINIONS: TF2 EDITION

- The Manmelter is a great weapon that complements several of the Pyro's primaries well and is useful in a variety of situations. Its only major weakness is that it can't store crits reliably when there are no Pyros on the enemy team. I don't see why it's considered inferior to the other flare guns.

- There's no way to balance the Phlogistinator without completely reworking it because it encourages a lazy playstyle. Ambushing? Reflecting projectiles? Wombo Combo? Forget all those, just attack indiscriminately and use the crits to make up for any mistakes you made! Or just do what most people do and die to a projectile while you run at people.

- I like Hydro, and I like the fact that it's got Valve servers running it again. It does have some issues with the round lengths, but those wouldn't be hard to fix if Valve just updated the thing.

- Something needs to be done about the Sandvich. It's not OP, per say, but it's still just so practical that it overshadows all of the Heavy's other secondary options. I'd say the solution would be to make the other secondaries better, like by adding an ammo equivalent to the Sandvich or a "Fat Scout" primary that gives Heavy huge buffs but takes away his minigun (to make the shotguns and buffalo steak more useful).

- I have less respect for Unusual wearers than I do Gibus wearers. If you're willing to spend $50 on a virtual hat with a particle effect, I don't expect you to be a particularly competent player. (But I'll make an exception if you traded your way up to it and didn't spend much actual money getting there, since that at least shows you put time and effort into TF2.)

-Origin may be unnecessary, and it would have been far better if EA had kept releasing their games on Steam, but it's not Satan.
-I unironically like vaporwave.
-Team/class-based FPSes are getting really fucking old, just like modern military FPSes. I don't wanna work as a fucking team all the time (though when I do, I try to be as helpful to my team as I can), or be limited to a certain set of weapons for each class, I wanna run around killing people with any weapon I want, be it an assault rifle, a minigun, a shotgun, or whatever, with all of them at my disposal!

I'm beginning to think people are just using the phrase "tough love" as an excuse to be sociopathic asshats to people weaker than them.

Memes like Carl The Cuck, AIDS Skrillex, and Trigglypuff were funny at first, but now it has turned into an anti-left wing cyberbulling campaign against these individuals. It's like various sites such as /pol/ and ED are saying, "LOL, this is how liberals/SJWs behave, so let's make fun of them by turning them into a meme."

I think leafy's an okay youtuber. once you get past the shitty titles, heavily implied cyberbullying, and his absolutely awful fanbase (seriously, I don't think he'll ever shake off that #memegate bullshit), the content itself is, well, definitely not the worst. I got some laughs out of him. sensible laughs, but laughs nonetheless. he says his stuff is satire (yes, I understand that there can definitely be holes in that argument), and you could probably see that without being told.

A thousand times this. Now, let me express my opinion;
-I actually unironically liked Gundam SEED Destiny. Fight me.

I couldn't make it through all of GradeAUnderA's video on YouTube drama because the guy is acting like a major asshole to Markiplier by calling Mark a retard and manchild based solely on his appearance, and I've actually gone ahead and unsubscribed if this is how Grade is going to act from now on. Not even fucking I Hate Everything judged Mark so harshly over something so fucking trivial, IHE even said Mark's video was "ultimately harmless," but yet Grade conveniently leaves that part out of his own video when he uses a clip from IHE.

I think what bugs me the most is grade also failed to do some fucking research, despite him saying he used to be a professor. "Markimoo" is a nickname given to him by fans, and he dyes his hair to honor the memory of a friend who committed suicide because dying his hair (on a dare for charity I might add) was the last thing he did with said friend.
