A lot of people see Anonymous negatively.
As long as they stay away from me, I'm fine with them. Especially when they raid Scientology >:D. But sometimes they go to far, and that's a shame :(
I do agree with Anonymous on some things (like opposing that cult). But the stuff they do occasionally goes beyond free speech and in to dickwardery.
I didn't see anything in that article that was unwarranted. Anonymous has a well-documented history of being trouble-makers of one sort or another. That's not a negative opinion. It's a factual statement. To deny that Anonymous gets involved in troublemaking would be either ignorance or lies. Generally, as a whole, Anonymous is a bunch pranksters that are mostly harmless, but there are those select idiots who believed everything that was said when they saw past coverage calling them "super hackers" and an "internet hate machine."
I think Wired actually did a good job of avoiding the kinds of exaggerated hype that many others have used. This was pretty tame.
