KYM Forums and IRC users Religion List

Remember the Sexuality and Gender Identity list by Particle Mare? Well I decided to make a similar list keeping track of religion instead of the religion of users.

If you want to be included in the list, please check to see if your name is already on the list. Also, if you go on the IRC, include your IRC nickname in the post. And one more thing; This list is completely optional, you don't have to reveal your religion if you don't want to.

The list will be updated every time a user posts. And if you want a side note attached to your name (i.e. You're a Lapsed Catholic, or an Atheist that celebrates religious holidays), please include it in the post.

Anyways, view the list HERE!
Danke danke~!

My IRC name is just Ryumaru
I consider myself Agnostic Atheist, seeing how you have Atheist and Agnostic as different categories, you can just put me under Agnostic.

Edit: I do celebrate Christmas since it's more of a family holiday anyway, but I haven't done anything for Easter since I was a kid looking for eggs.

Atheist here

Insert obligatory tip fedora joke here

EDIT: I do take part in celebrations like Christmas mostly because it a family thing.
Also, since Agnostic means 'You can't prove god exists or not' I guess you could say I am agnostic too, but I personally ignore that, and just consider myself fully atheist.

I'm a straight up indifferent athetit. I do celebrate most general western christian holidays though like christmas, halloween, easter, etc.

EDIT: there's going to be lots of athetits I can already tell

small edit: Seeing as it's being added in the thing, I do celebrate "religious" holidays such as Easter and Christmas

Ok being absolutely serious tho, Agnostic, heavily leaning toward Atheist.

Pure euphoria right here.

By the way, I suggest that you might want to reconsider your irreligion classifications.

One thing to keep in mind is that, though I'm sure they exist, true gnostic atheists are probably a miniscule minority- I don't even know of one.

Making statistics/lists isn't exactly a "fun" game, and past threads of this nature have been in general, so it should just stay where it is.

I believe Deist would be the best word to describe me. I do celebrate traditionally Christian holidays (Christmas/Easter) but my family hardly celebrates it in a religious sense beyond praying at the dinner table.

Well, this isn't serious debate either. Debating religion would be off-topic anyway since this is just a survey.

I identify as agnostic. If you wanted to get all technical I'm a soft agnostic atheist, which basically means (to me) "I don't say I know if any dieties exist, but I believe it's possible that we could eventually prove or disprove their existence. Also, I don't sincerely believe that any dieties exist, but I do seriously believe that they could exist and I'm making the wrong assessment." (I really hope a nice one or some nice ones exist though, because otherwise, if we don't figure out some loophole for entropy, then things will eventually suck.)

The funny thing is, I'd probably be Buddhist if I didn't have to do research on all the different brands of it, and have to probably read a holy book or something. I mean, I feel like the 4 noble truths and the eightfold path seem logical, but I can't be bothered to dig any deeper.

I'm an atheist if you want to be accurate, I only say I'm agnostic so as to remain in my grandparents will, but I'm pretty sure they don't buy it either lmao.

My family is Catholic so those are the holidays we celebrate, and yes we celebrate them all religiously in addition to their American capitalist counterparts. The only one I blatantly refuse to participate in is Ash Wednesday because it freaks me out.

An Agnostic Atheist who celebrates the christian holidays because everyone I know also does and I would look a lot like an outsider if I didn't. (My family are not what you would call skeptical about a great deal of things.)

That's cool. Honestly, I'm kind of a pansy, so I find that admirable. Also, sorry if I'm rustling anyone's jimmies, but I just want to say sorry if you've faced any Islamophobia (or whatever the technical term for it is.) Like, in the "I feel sorry for you" way, but in a 100% noncondecending way. I think I'll quit while I'm behind. Again, sorry if I was rude to anyone.

Atheist, though I celebrate Christmas because I like presents and the warm and fuzzy feeling it brings. I like pissing off fundies in my spare time.

I'm a old earth Christian, My belief is that the big bang/evolution happened but was planned by God, and that Genesis up to Abraham is metaphorical, but from Abraham to Christ is mostly Literal. As for denomination, my family is Reformed (protestant) but I consider myself non-denominational.

Non-denominational Christian. I believe in God and that Jesus is the Savior, but I do not stick to one single translation of the Bible and I do question certain interpretations of it by specific denominations.

People described my beliefs as Shinto at one point. And it wasn't even because my avatar is a damn Shinto Shrine Maiden, it was about my modular worldview of being inclusive about beliefs and the fat spoonful of Buddhism that was the basis of a lot of it.

In the end, I don't know what I am. "Eastern", "Buddhism", "Shinto", or "Buddhism/Shinto" can be used as the placeholder.

Good question. Religion's something of my weak point. I was raised Jewish. I'd like to believe in some sort of divinity and I generally get along with people of faith, but the lack of concrete proof is quite a sticking point. What I hope is that both the atheists and evangelical Christians are wrong (no offense). At the moment, I'm leaning towards the beliefs of the smartest man in the world, Charles Krauthammer, who advocates "…a recognition of the mystery of the universe and the fact that it is impenetrable….The mystery tells me that the universe is so complex and so dense with things that we cannot possibly understand…that it's best to bow in awe to it and beyond that, people can interpret as they want….I leave it as a question rather than an answer."
