Most of you already know me at least a little bit. Database moderator who is known among the KYM community for Bionicle and Kantai Collection, as well as some KYM-tan versions of memes and tagging. Here is the old AMA in case anyone is interested, but feel free to ask the same questions, as answers may have changed.

If you had to choose between removing an image of naked breasts and removing an image of bare legs, would your amish beard power make the right choice?

How did you find out about Kancolle and who’s best shipgirl?

Actually, there is a specific series of events that got me into Kancolle.

In January 2014, I was looking for pictures to upload to the Nichijou gallery. In particular, looking for images of the submemes Nichijou had. I came across this image of the "It's Salmon!" meme on ZeroChan.

and, while I was glad I found an example of the meme to upload, I was also

So I tried to figure out what this "Kantai Collection" thing was and

It just so happened that 2 Days after uploading that pic, another user made a Kantai Collection entry, and I felt obligated to contribute… and I was really the only user who used the gallery, and constantly used the wiki to tag ships correctly and…

As for best Kanmusu, I'd say Snail Mutsu as it's cute and something I could get a plush of and not be seen as super creepy. For actual "girl" though, I'd lean towards Tenryuu, though it's much easier to say ones I hate than ones I like.

How safe are the trees around you?

Okay, so I know that this is more of a shitpost question, but I feel the need to answer seriously.

You need to understand that I'm from the cross timbers area of Oklahoma originally. While there are supposed to be trees there, it's meant to look like a savanna, with grass being everywhere (and burning regularly), with a few tress scattered across the landscape. With recovery efforts after the Dust bowl and fire suppression, there are way more trees than there should be where I live. In particular, a species known as Easter Red Cedar . most species naturally found where I'm from are mostly fire tolerant, at least as adults. J. virginana though is not, which is what kept it in check. However, without fire, they out compete grasses and eventually the other woody vegetation, making the area into a monoculture which few native species can live in. And they are also extremely flammable. While smaller ones can be controlled in prescribed burns, stands of full grown trees are extremely dangerous if they catch fire, and are difficult to control. It is better to remove them through mechanical means which can easily cost several thousand dollars. As such, the cheapest way of dealing with cedar trees if you are unable to burn (as that can be a legal migraine, and even if everything is done right, always has potential for something to go wrong). is cutting them down when their still small enough to take out with a pair of hand held loppers and cutting below the lowest branch. I've killed hundreds of baby cedar trees this way, as well as taking a few that were too big for this method, so I cut off all of the branches the tree had.

TL;DR better dead than Eastern Red. Otherwise it's fine.

What is it like being the amish mod? Favourite video game?

Okay, so non-joke, I spent more time this past week with my family's sheep than moderating Know Your Meme. Also, my parents house has really slow internet (except between midnight and 5 am) which also makes things hard to do when I'm there.

If I had to pick only one favorite video game I think it would be Fallout: New Vegas.

How bare are the legs? ¿Por qué no eliminamos ambos? I hope so.

EDIT: I seem to be having some technical difficulties with html code. I'll try and post again tomorrow.

What are your opinion on Minions?

What boats you hate? Why?

Thank You based RandomMan. Back to your regally scheduled programming.

What’s the best dinosaur? Which one would beat all the others in a fight?

Eh… there's not really an objective answer to this. Technically Spinosaurus would be the best and most likely to beat all the others in a fight, but that only holds true if in deepish water, as it's the only non-avian dinosaur that seems to be very well adapted to living in water. Not much of an answer, but it's the closest to an objective answer with current scientific knowledge.

I'm not going to pretend I stalk your postings but they seem good. As for Idol things: Umi is best girl, in no small part to not liking idols and thinking the whole thing is dumb.

Favorite Bonkle set?

As with best Kanmusu, It's easier to say which ones I hate as opposed to a single one I like the most. I think that the Exo-Toa might be it, as it still has action features and complicated building and (albeit dated) poseability. If just build and action, I'd say Muaka and Kane-Ra (also due to alt model of Kumba-Nui) if just build and poseability I'd say Axxon.

What are the chances of you ever shaving your beard?

I grew my beard around sophomore/ junior year of highschool. The last time I know for a fact I fulled shaved it was for a school charity fundraiser where I shaved off all the hair on my head (save for eyebrows/lashes). That having been said, last year I had to work partially in a kitchen, which required me to wear a hair net and ask. I was told I could either wear a hair net over my beard or just cut it so it would fit under the mask, and I chose the latter. I've had it like that for the most part ever since.

1) Which Bionicle type/race/species is your favorite? i really liked the Bohrok and Rahkshi
2) Who is the best Kancolle princess/demon?
3) Favorite videogame/cartoon/book series?
Type in terms of "set wave" is the Barrakki. They were the best wave where none of the sets felt like a recolor of another set in the wave before the issues with the ball sockets happened. Race I think I'll go with the Skakdi. While they superficially resemble Toa, the Skakdi were an interesting foil to them. Toa are generally lawful good, almost all the Skakdi seen are chaotic evil.Another reason I like them, due to their lips (hear me out). Some have noted that the Skakdi have their own language and the few words that we know should come from that language don't really require the lips to close to say those words. The actual Piraka sets have fleshy faces, but seem unable to actually press their lips together because of how big their teeth are in their mouth. While their island in in a perpetual state of civil war, the only source of fresh war is universally agreed to be a neutral zone. Without lips that can close, drinking water is difficult, so it would make sense that attacking them while doing this would be considered immoral, even among a species whose most famous members actively kill intelligent creatures for fun. It is entirely possible all of this is an unintended coincidence, but even them, that's a neat coincidence. As for species, it would be probably the Kahu, if only for the bit in the Mata-Nui Online Game.

2) while not a princess or a Deamon, I think my favorite abyssal is the Re-Class, as she's a hybrid between the more creepy alien deep sea designs and the human abyssal ones, but you can also see her face, unlike most of the other hybrid looking ones. As for Actual Princess, I'd go with harbour princess of course because of notably her huge hands just because I like those being big.

3) Video Game I would say Fallout: New Vegas. Cartoon: if only one, Batman: The Animated Series. Books series: I guess maybe David Brin's Uplift saga.

Tchefuncte Bonaparte wrote:

What generation of Bionicle was your favorite?

Technically, there have only been two generations of bionicle. While I think the baseline for "standard" sets was much higher in Gen 2 than Gen 1, the overall Gen 1 had a lot more going for it in terms of story and while, objectively the CCBS parts are more versatile to make what ever you want, I still like the feel of the older parts more than this clean and smooth look CCBS has.

But if you are referring to "year" then (unpopular opinion, I really liked 2005. For for that, you need to understand why I liked Bionicle. I didn't really get into Bionicle until mid 2003. The thing that got me into it was seeing the rahi sets an IRL friend had, and I was really into animals. There were Pewku and the Gukko bird in 2003, but it really couldn't compare to 2001. 2005 brought back many of the creatures into at least cameo roles in the story, as well as introducing a huge array of new creatures through the 12 different alternate models of the Visorak, Rahaga, and Hordiak, as well as the Visorak themselves. And many of the creatures were given a more creature feel to their behavior as well through the rahaga's words. While some see 2005 as a nearly jump the shark year, I fondly remember it due to the fact creatures as creatures got to play a larger role in the story.

Pone: I think still Derpy Hooves/ whatver the hell Hasbro decided to rename her as
Pokemon: Leaning to Tyrantrum because it's a basically Tyrannosaurs with feathers that people don't just go "OMG LAME!" to.
Shiny Pokemon: Not gonna lie, I don't know my Shiny Pokemon well enough to say.
Touhou: Maybe Shijoi Hata no Kokoro,
Other Lego Products: Most sets actually to at least to some degree as products/for parts, less for the story. Outside of Bionicle, I can't really think of any themes within the last five years that I actually got excited for the story, other than the one comic in the LEGO Magazine that tied it, Pharaohs Quest, Atlantis and Dino together. Unfortunately other than saying "The aliens were behind it" it didn't go anywhere.
Minions: I've only seen the first Despicable Me. They were okay there but not my favorite. Did not think they merited their own movie, but I've certainly not see said movie either.
Kings: uh… like as a concept or is this a Game/Book/TV show ? If a concept, I guess it's better than pure anarchy but I can't say I prefer it over a democracy.
Guy Fawkes: My Guy Fawkes is cool

(I'll get to least fav boats tomorrow)

How is your everyday experience as a Database Mod?
What is the best/worst piece of media you had to move/remove on the site?

While I sometimes do crazy things, the only thing I do on a nearly daily basis is make sure no one's posted porn/gore and ban spambots. I usually also go to the discord channel but only do much with mods there unless I'm pinged.

Actual best media would generally be good things that are just reposts, followed closely by actually good YouTube videos that the creator took down/ got C&D'd. As for worst, porn/ gore raids. Technically the personal absolute worst I've removed was a gif with a group of chicks (baby chickens) that were being killed, which was uploaded to the Dafuq gallery.

TripleA9000 wrote:

What’s your favourite part about being a mod.

Personally, It has to do with images. Gather together examples of memes for years, often with the aid of various different users, getting ready for an entry. Finally moving them all together into a new entry, and using the sources in those images to aid in creating both a better gallery and entry than one that could ever be compiled by a simple google search and a few hours of research alone. this is also the reason admins not moving images, especially when the tag for said entry is in place on the entry list just waiting to be moved, gets to me. It's like all the work was already done by the community, the images are already in place and generally have upvotes and favorites. why would you go through the effort of reuploading it and not giving the community some credit?

Hi Jacob! You'll probably know about me, anyways! Here's the questions i wanna say:

-Have you played Kirby before?
-What do you think the franchise and its fanbase?

-And have you played any Mega Man series (Classic / X / Zero / ZX-Advent / Legends / Battle Network / Starforce) before?
-If so, do have some favorite series of Mega Man? :o

HEAT Maple wrote:

Unfortunately I have not (which is rather bizarre because we have the same birthday). Kirby Fandom, from what I've seen, is like many other pre widespread internet game franchises like BomberMan, Metroid and MegaMan, in that they are evergreen fandoms. Fandoms like these are normally not huge in terms of massive impact, like how Undertale, FNAF etc. are but are also seen as more "timeless". While all fan bases have their unsavory aspects, the nature evergreen fandoms means that it's nearly impossible for their name to be ruined by a minority. I have no real negative opinions about Kirby.

I do have the Mega Man Legacy Collection on Steam. Unfortunately… Iv'e not actually gotten around to playing it any of it.

HOWEVER There is one thing that might need explaining….

I do not have a problem. You have a problem.

So yeah… Because the Classic Series is the most popular, it gets the most fan music, and so (while I did see MegaMan NT Warrior when it aired) The classic series (or interpretations of it) is the one I have the most, uhh "experience" with

The ultimate question: Mickey Mouse or Felix the Cat

I'm going to have to go with Mickey Mouse. I really like the 1936 Felix the cat animations, and the few older ones (though dated) I liked. However, the 50's-60's era show is low budget animation (as most animation was at the time) but without the saving grace of witty political commentary like Rocky and Bullwinkle had. and the Movie… It's not known for being good. Mickey Mouse has his ups and downs but never felt forgotten.

It's alright. Definitely like the cute/ humor aspects of it far more than the Idol Drama/ Idol-ness of it. The thing is, it is (or at least LLSIP is) one of those shows that is really well known and very identifiable even if you have never seen it. If you try to learn about anime culture for very long, you are going to learn about it to some degree, same as with Fullmetal Alchemist or Gurren Lagann.

RandomMan wrote:

There are a few Kanmusu who act a little more idiotic than I would like. Most of the time it's played for laughs, and some of characters I know well enough, I knew exactly how they would react in a doujin manga even if I had never read anything by that person.

The biggest problem are designs of some of them. In particular, destroyers and other ships that appear very young, but whose designs, or certain levels of detail are not something that would fly here (Shimakaze, Yukikaze, R0-500, most of the Submarines tbh) Then you got the Kai Ni of Tone and Chikuma who appear to be going commando.

The only one I really hate due to personality is Naka. The concept of a "Fleet Idol" just seems dumb (on top of me not liking idols already and the biggest draw for her is 2-4-11.
